ST. LOUIS - The Blues have acquired goaltender Ryan Miller and forward Steve Ott from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, prospect William Carrier, a first-round draft pick in 2015 and a third-round draft pick in 2016.

Miller and Ott will join the team in Phoenix, where the Blues play Sunday.

Blues receive:
2014 Minnesota 2nd
2014 Buffalo 3rd (which as of right now would be pick #60, which in any other draft is the last pick of the 2nd round - due to Devils forfeiting their 1st this year).

If Miller doesn't re-sign and we don't make the conference finals:
Blues give up:
2015 1st
2016 3rd

If the Blues don't make the conference finals, but Miller re-signs after the draft:
Blues give up:
2015 1st, 2016 2nd

Murray managed to get a pick for the season we won't have Miller in and a deeper draft. Really smart move on his part. I guess I have given Armstrong too much credit in the past. The Perron deal should have been an eye opener.
