Haven't seen him play much but he seems to have somewhat adapted and become more of a playmaker while still being a threat to score. Would TBay fans agree?
He's going to be tough to defend if he can both score and set up his linemates.

Obviously, I never said otherwise. All I said was coming 4th or 10th in league scoring isn't a monster season no matter how many pts you get.
What I don't understand is why you used absolute point totals for the 12 game state comparison and league standings for the full season comparison. That makes no sense unless you're trying to push an agenda in a misleading manner.

These players scored 100+, 100+, 90(in 68gp) etc. points after the starts they had, which is what is important.

I didn't use anything. A poster said Staal 100pts, Heatley 105, etc were monster seasons and I said no because look where they ended up finishing. Another poster brought up their stats after 12 games, not me. The pts look impressive because it was 05/06. It's more impressive scoring 90pts today and winning the ross or finishing runner up rather than scoring 105 and finishing 5th in 06. That was my point.

With 6+18=24 Points and +8 in 13 games, Steven Stamkos has put up the best October since 1993 when Wayne grezky had 8+21=29 Points and +4 in 13 games.

Grezky went on to win the Art Ross that year with 38+92=130 Points and -25 in 81 games. How well will Stamkos do? If Stamkos would follow Grezky's 1993-94 season in a similar fashion it would roughly tranfer into 29+79=108 Points and -21 in 81 games. Probably enough to give him the Art Ross and Hart tropies.

What do you guys think about this? Is it impressive? Will Stamkos keep impressing, or will he slow down or get injured once again? Or might he even improve and have the best offensive season since Lemieux in 1995-96?

Lemieux had 23 in his first 10 in 2002-03 (all in October) 27 in his first 11 and 29 in 12. The 11th and 12th game were in November so I guess for the purpose of your thread you could say Stamkos but Lemieux's start was easily better. He also didn't have a Kucherov to play with that year.

Why do you even bring this up if he's talking strictly about the month of October
That Stamkos is such a bum. Didn't even beat Lemiux's start :whatever:

He had Kovalev though, who was pretty damn good that year.

It took Lemieux 34 games to get the amount of points Kovalev had in all 54 of his games as a Penguin that season, my point was Lemieux didn't have another linemate competing with him.

Yet they're the ones saying their C is better than the guy who just put up the best October in 14 years.... He may get their someday, but today is not that day.

I still think Matthews is a better hockey player though, regardless of their October point totals. Voracek is not better than Crosby and McDavid if you get what I mean.

Awesome for Stamkos. Those are some impressive numbers. As for the Leaf fans who have swarmed this thread looking for validation or something, maybe find a different hobby for a while.

As an outside fan, it's really nice to see Stamkos doing so well. He's been a great ambassador for hockey and I never really bought into the talk that he was declining. He just happened to get injured a lot recently. But when he's on, he's definitely a top 10 player and maybe even higher.

Him and Kucherov are magic to watch right now.

You don’t need One month to determine he makes your team a lot better.

On the horse always
He will make any team better obviously, but I'm sure he's Gonna want a ridiculous contract. So if anyone turns him down it's because he will probably be over paid.

Also for the record Forsberg had 28 points in his first 13 games in 2005-06. This and the Lemieux example I bring up because they were also their teams first games of the season so they had no control of how many came in October or not, but still a great start by Stamkos nonetheless. I never really thought he would be scoring like this and an Art Ross after all his injury trouble would be great for the game.

What a start! I really hope he is healthy all season. Always liked him & wished he was on the Ducks.. Getz and Stamkos as our two centers...
