Just went back and checked out some of the Sweden goals from the last game. Looks to me like you thought Eriksson Ek had an assist on a play because Ray Ferraro called his name on a replay, but got it wrong. The IIHF has that one right- Nylander (Dahlen, Asplund).

Just one game played today as Finland and Latvia completed their schedule and now exit this year's tourney. A few people were held off the scoresheet today, but the majority ended up with two points. However, Statsy continues to be on fire and picked up five points in today's game to pull into third place, now just a single point behind Tom. The Tolvanen-Rasanen combination has been firing on all cylinders since the coaching change, which really makes you wonder what could have been from the start of the tournament. It's pretty sad when I, as a casual onlooker from another country, had a better idea of how the Finland team should be set up than the guy they actually put in charge of coaching the team, but I digress... :shakehead

Here is the point summary from today:

Statsy - 5 pts
WeThreeKings - 2 pts
Khabby - 2 pts
Woodhouse - 2 pts
Tomsburninghat - 2 pts
FightingSioux - 0 pts
Tade - 0 pts
Canada4Gold - 0 pts

I think that should count as a shutout for Hart. I can't help that Durcharme is a ****ing idiot and started Ingram ;)

The funny thing is, that was the absolute best thing that could have happened for Canada. No more "what if's" regarding the starters.

My goalie

JK, it was the obvious move and Canada winning is far more important than me winning this, which I plan on doing without any more points from Ingram anyway :D

6 points is more than I expected to get from Ingram with my last pick anyway

I have done a quick update after the Bronze Medal Game. Not a lot of points handed out in a 2-1 game with a couple of unassisted goals. The race at the top doesn't change much as it's one point each for C4G and Tom, though Tade gets a pair of points to pull a bit closer to that silver position. Statsy gets the Samsonov win to keep pace with Tade, but remains 4 points back. One game to go!

So I have 64 points. Tied with BigPapaSmurf's pool record. Would be great if 1 of the Canadians I have could get in on the game winner.

Greenway or any of the other American's aren't allowed to score

The fifth annual Statsy's WJC Pool is now in the books. Congrats to Canada4Gold for the championship win! He did it in fine style with a pool best 7 points today. As he already mentioned/bragged, his 64 points ties a pool record earlier set by BigPapaSmurff. Tomsburninghat had his best showing, earning the Silver with an impressive 54 points. Tade managed to hang on for dear life to take the Bronze with one more point than Statsy. Statsy launched an official appeal about the final standings but was turned down by the pool coordinator, who is also Statsy. FightingSioux managed to earn his way out of the basement on the last day, leaving Woodhouse in last spot. To be fair it was Woodhouse's rookie season in the Statsy Pool and big things are expected of him in his sophomore season! Thanks to everyone for playing and we'll see you all next year!

Can you really finish anywhere but the bottom with zero goalie points, no Canadians, and two guys (Keller, Asplund) carrying your team? I mean, the difference there was that last Parsons shootout win, so I'll gladly take my lumps here. :D

I had a team last year where Puljujarvi was one point short of having as many points as my other nine players combined! Pretty tough when you're relying on so few to do so much.

Thanks for the excellently run pool Statsy, congrats to Tom on Silver and Tade on 3rd, and everyone for a really fun pool :)

Thought I had a decent chance of winning post draft, I liked my team and virtually everyone(except Sergachev) came through as good or better than expected

Dominant win for Canada4Gold! Congrats! Although your nickname doesn't suit up for yesterdays game. Too bad that I had to miss yesterdays game... had to be great game.

Also congrats to Tomsburninghat, great job, you deserved it after last year's 8th place.

After the gold medal from last year, I am happy for the bronze, it was great competitive battle for the medals so I am happy for that.

It was so close Statsy! You almost had me, whe I was looking on the scoreboards, I thought, oh ****, I will be 4th now. Thanks for that damn goal Lauzon! Great run from you.

And big thanks to you Statsy for this draft once again... I am sure this is the best WJC draft on the HFB. You are doing super good job! And I am already looking for the next year.

Nonetheless, great job everyone! We had nice and fast draft, everyone managed to get at least 30 points, really competitive environment here! Next year will be even harder, I am sure.

Super fun tournament everyone. The puns made it legendary!!!! Looking forward to improving on my silver medal finish next year. Goalie and injuries seemed to make difference as they do every year. Have a great 2017!
