I'm sorry buddy, it is you who looks silly. Quoting random metrics with no context is a surefire way to demonstrate the fact that you don't watch either of these players. When they are separated, which is not super often, Slavin is taking defensive zone starts against McDavid, Matthews, Mac etc. Slavin starts in the Dzone 55% over his career to Hamilton's 42% while with Carolina.

I wonder why teams get more chances and shots when starting in the offensive zone....

Real tough one to figure out.

Advanced stats without context are misleading. You'd hope that more will catch up on this. I have been repeating this for years. QoT, QoC, Zone starts, game situations, F/O locations, trailing/leading, QoO, etc, etc... Hockey is not like baseball, a lot of different parts interact at the same time.
