Well then it's hard to explain this kinda of fleecing...Nope BG said he has the green light

Is Thornton coming back for SJ? I'd assume he played with Donato's dad for a bit with the Bruins. I know Bergeron and Ted Donato had at least a season of overlap.
I mean...they're not insignificant extensions...but this saves about 1 million dollars total. And those players aren't the biggest extensions either. No internal cap, but it is likely they are eyeing the capspace in 2021-2022 with all deals they are making, as they will have significant extensions that year (Fiala, Kaprizov and JEE).
Honestly who cares what that trade looks like now -- that trade was made by Fenton and not BG. My guess is that BG would not have made that trade if he was the GM.The Coyle trade looks worse and worse.
Good deal for SJS.
Oh, I don't think this deal has anything to do with it capwise, just commenting on the Wild's cap situation. Wild had to send out atleast one Wing with Kaprizov coming in. Just zero minutes for Donato.I mean...they're not insignificant extensions...but this saves about 1 million dollars total. And those players aren't the biggest extensions either.
I agree 100% with this. Many GM's have always tried to move young guys to team to give them a chance to play when they know they aren't going to get minutes with the team. Donato is that kid who was never going to get a chance to play top 6/9 minutes so give the kid a chance elsewhere.Oh, I don't think this deal has anything to do with it capwise, just commenting on the Wild's cap situation. Isn't Donato supposed to be a pretty decent depth player? This seems underwhelming.
Of too many centers? Or does he mostly play wing.He is, and it is, but he's a victim of circumstance in Minnesota.
Now Minnesota only has a 3rd round pick to show for Coyle?
Wasn’t the Coyle deal kind of forced by him though? Or was it just a bad move?
While obviously the current GM is not responsible for Fenton's moves. This still seems like the Wild are getting pennies on the dollar for this return.
Which seems particularly questionable given they didn't have to make this trade now.

I'm not all that thrilled with it, but "pennies on the dollar" is a bit extreme.
