DW needs to go back to the tanning bed. WTF was he thinking with this

3.75 a year would have been fair. This is crazy talk.

Kind of high. Not really stoked on this, but we couldn't let him go. I think $3.75m would be fair.

Good for Doug Wilson for paying the man. Much respect. Labanc trusted him, put his career earnings on the line, to benefit the team. Yes, the team underachieved. They sucked. But Doug Wilson remembered the sacrifice and came through.

The world we live in... it is a little better place right now.

This signing is hilarious cause if it was low everyone would shit on the Sharks for not treating Labanc right after he took the discount, and if it is high like it is now, people are shitting on the Sharks for overpaying after he had a bad year.

fun times

They seemingly worked together to get a really low AAV for one year at the cost of a bigger AAV later, but in that one cheap year the Sharks were absolutely terrible and didn't benefit at all from those savings. Any shitting on feels appropriate tbh

The fact that it took this long disproves all of the crazy conspiracy theories that he had a back door cap circumvention deal already lined up. It was clear at the time that his agent was just a massive dumbass and this contract will likely prove that once again.

He should be happy with 4.75 million per given the current state of the NHL as some guys are going to get squeezed out some money.

How much will SJS have to give up for Seattle to select him the ED next year?

Dont think it's as bad as some seem to think it is however....

Great deal for 2018-2019 Labanc. Not so much for this year's edition. Let's see who shows up moving forward.

Love this for Labanc after he got shafted last offseason. Well deserved despite the mediocre season.

As for the Sharks... that team's in for a world of hurt going forward, my goodness
