But if you want to be technical... how many playoff rounds did the Canucks actually win during their “window”? Two whole rounds in their entire window outside the one trip to the Finals. The Sharks may not have a Cup, but they’ve won a whole bunch more rounds and are on their way to win more this season.

Nobody cares about the accomplishments of their past cores with Marleau/Thornton and the Sedins and whomever else. They care about where the teams are right now and right now, the Sharks are 1st in the Conference while the Canucks are stuck taking moral victories for being in the playoff race in January because the West is historically bad.

Both teams have a completely different core from the ones they did when they met in the playoffs in 2011 and 2013 and the Sharks' new core has been far better than the Canucks' new core has.

The team is full of 4th line checking forwards and while other teams strengthened their lineups, Benning does his normal subtractions and then fails to even know who was papered to Utica.
