Should each team get 1 timeout during the 1st, 2nd & 3rd periods?

I already hate the 3 tv timeouts enough, always start games a bit behind so I can skip them.

6 timeouts per period would be ideal.

And coaches should start skating out to the crease and chat the goalie after a bad goal.
maybe start kicking snow over the blue line when they don't agree with an offside call

i wanna see coaches in face to face screaming matches with refs

I'm just suggesting 1 each period for both teams. However unless it's for a coaches challenge we generally don't see a timeout being called until very late in the 3rd period.

Indeed. I still say no.

I'd personally be willing to accept 1 regular time out and 1 coaches challenge. But that's as far as id go.

How often do timeouts get used outside of the final minute anyway?
I think a pretty significant part of that is the fact that there's only one and so it gets "hoarded".

Wouldn't mind coaches having the ability to let their team regroup maybe once or twice more often. It's the idea of them having multiple options to say "MAKE THAT GOAL NOT COUNT" that I have real trouble with - it gets overused like crazy already.

No. One timeout per game is enough. Use it to try and draw up a play at the end of the game. That's it.
