Abso-freakin-lutely. I remember at the draft he reminded me of Thornton, very soft hands, very good passing, very creative, shields his body well. Being at center will allow him to flourish even more because he can be central to the ice.

They should consider it, it gives them much more depth having their top 3 forwards carrying their own lines. MacKinnon and Rantanen should both be able to carry their own lines.

Offensive side of the game would work out brilliantly I've no doubt. But for that you don't need to change anything. The beauty of that 1st line offense is they pretty much switch roles all the time. And Landy takes a lot of faceoffs anyways.

But in the own end Mikko needs a considerable amount of work on his game as a centerman. Surely he could do it and put in the work but I don't see them really wanting to go that route. It's just a nice option to have when needed.

No in the sense it shouldn't be locked in, but it's great to have that line-up flexibility.

I don't know if i'd leave Rants at center this year, but it definitely gives us a hell of a lot more options moving forward, and this streak also cements my feelings that Rants + Mack should be split up.
