Shortest NHL career?

I found, that Christian G. Soucy and Robbie Irons played in NHL only for 3 minutes. they are both goalies.

but is there any example of this short NHL career also with forwards or Defensmans?

Goalie Jordan Sigalet played 43 seconds for the 05-06 Bruins, I think he had already been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at that time, so it was his swan song.

Mark Van Guilder spent his time playing in Milwaukee for 5 full years and 2 partial years to get to 383 games. To honor his service, the Nashville Predators called him up for 1 NHL game. That way, he would not be a career minor league player.

Does anybody know the least amount of ice time for a one-game wonder that wasn't a goaltender that has a registered game?

The lowest I can find is 4:10 by Greg Crozier (2000-01)

In that case, they are not considered to have played in the NHL and therefore don't have an NHL career.

uh... so bascially the same as the post I was quoting 8 years ago?

i have to say, it is always nice to sign in and find new people have "liked" a post I made so long ago (not the one you quoted, which was admittedly of mediocre quality).

Does anyone have the game stats from Don Cherry's sole game in the NHL as a Bruin? I can't imagine he'd have gotten a lot of minutes in that game. Although it was enough to knock down Beliveau in front of the net.

Supposedly he played pretty well that game

Back then NHL jobs were really really hard to come by with how small the league was. Still you look at how long his minors career was and that he was a pretty good player you'd figure he'd get more than just 1 game. He and a lot of other guys were unlucky in that they were already in their 30's when the league expanded. Some guys got their shot after lots of years of toiling. But Cherry was already 33-34 when the league doubled and was passed over again because younger/faster players still in their 20's could be had

When Pelle Lindbergh died, the Flyers called up rookie Darren Jensen to backup Lindbergh's backup goalie Bob Froese. Three days later, Froese was injured & the Flyers called up third-string goalie Mike Bloski, who was playing in the Atlantic Coast league. Bloski backed up Jensen for three starts.

Olivier Michaud came to mind.. basically played a period at age 18, stopped everything, and was never seen in an NHL uniform again.
