um, somewhere in between. i'm extremely non-confrontational and nice irl

i enjoy being right on-line though

C'mon, you were basically right predicting that the sun would rise. Even the woeful Sabres teams of the past couple of years scored more than 1.67 G/Game so it was pretty much a guarantee that the Canes would be better than that. The message was more that this team would have trouble scoring and one game doesn't disprove that. If the Canes are in the top half of the league in scoring this year, I'll be surprised as I expect them to be in the bottom 10, although not the worst.

Now, in fairness to you, if the Canes end up 5th in the division (a less certain prediction), then kudos to you and you have every right to chirp about that.

They played in front of 18,949 at their home opener.

Standing room. Which is really odd since no one went on Tuesday.

I have been a STH since before the Cup.
Opening has been selling out or close to it for quite some time now, and it doesn't make a difference who the opponent is.

Also Tuesday night games are probably historically the worst attended games, and then factor in an opponent that no one from the opposing fan base is coming to see amplifies it.

Granted the attendance has been in the tank for the last 2 years going on 3, and if the on ice product doesn't change this trend will definitely continue and something will happen, but the first 2 games are both a little bit of an anomaly of what would be an "average" attendance.

Opening night last year may have been a "sell out" but there were plenty of empty seats. I got 200 level tickets, first row, center ice for $60 on stubhub. They did a better job hyping it up this year.

The absolute cheapest opening-night seats I saw on the secondary market were pushing $40. It was legitimately difficult to get in the door that night without paying way over face value.
