Way to take a positive outlook on things.Seems like a waste of a contract slot but okay.
Kinda his MOWay to take a positive outlook on things.
Isn’t it 3 “Russians”?Looks like we have 4 ELC's that don't count against the 50 contract limit, including the 2 "Russians".

Right, two Russians and two Californians (Chmelevski and McGrew.)Yep.
Chmelevski, Chekhovich, Vladislav & McGrew
Except one isn't from Russia, right?

Maybe the org, coaches, trainers, scouts, etc know a little bit more about the kid than you do. Those numbers aren't bad for someone who just came off missing a year due to injury. In addition, he has stood out in a positive way during the prospect scrimmage and camp.I mean he scored 38 points in 65 games as a 19-year-old in junior. The odds of him ever becoming even a third liner in the NHL are incredibly low. Kind of a weird prospect to sign any earlier than you absolutely have to.
And managed to do enough to get an invite to the WJC summer camp after a pretty good playoff run where he outscored Yamamoto.Maybe the org, coaches, trainers, scouts, etc know a little bit more about the kid than you do. Those numbers are abysmal for anyone with NHL aspirations. It sucks that he had a long-term injury but if it really has affected him to that extent it's all the more reason not to sign him at least until seeing what he does this year. He could have scored literally twice as many points last season and he would be still be tracking extremely poorly to ever be a NHLer.
Nobody cares.
Management should. There's a limited number of available contract slots and wasting one on a future AHLer is a bad idea, especially if the plan is to keep making bets on European UFAs.
That just means you don't get how easy it is to move someone like him if they so choose or that pretty much every team has a player like this under contract. Complaining about this is complaining for the sake of it and not out of anything that's actually a relevant argument to make. This is just what you do pretty much every time.
>objectivelyIt's objectively a bad move. Of course it isn't particularly significant or going to hamstring the team in any real way, most likely, but it's still a bad move.

You subjectively don't like the move. The org does. Several posters around here like it, are ok with it, or at least neutral to it. You are the only on kvetching about it. Your opinion=subjective.

Signing a tiny winger who can't score in junior to a contract this long before the rights forfeiture deadline is objectively a bad move.
