DeBoer did say they were going to rotate 8-9 forwards throughout the year. This is part of it if it is only to get Gregor some NHL play to reward him for some solid play.

Bergmann and Yurtaikin have been fine, but enough to not warrant being sent down? Think about how well Ferraro has played to cement a spot.

If they're going to sit on the bench in the NHL I would rather they both actually play in the AHL.

I mean it makes sense right?

Guys on their first call up are going to be all effort and giving it their all, so just call up a bunch of guys for a handful of games, and you will always have a guy playing with that energy. The Sharks have enough prospects with bottom/middle 6 NHL potential that they can keep this up for a while.

Gregor, Bergmann, Yurtaykin, Chekhovich, Blichfeld, Chmelevski, True, and to a lesser extent, Kellman, Halbgewachs, Weiderer.

Cycling like this gives both optimal performance now, as you get max energy from the rookie, and long term you get a look at the most guys possible.

I'd say that Yurtaikin didn't really get a chance since I don't think he's played the last 3 games when the system started to be established. I don't really mind sending him down though. More ice time and more Russian speakers could do him a lot of good.

Well we have that many forwards that are getting the *tryout* with the NHL. Lets hope one is good, can produce and stay. Training camp is different, not a bad thing to practice with the Sharks a few days to get
up to speed and find chemistry / confidence with a line mate before getting into an NHL game. Gregor is next man up, look for the Ch twins in the future also...

Bergmann and Yurtaikin have been fine. They have not been good enough to stay at the NHL level
so far, they could be back if they get some ice time, play well, and get some confidence in the AHL.

Sharks are trying to conserve cap space. They have three guys on IR/LTIR; that's not helping with the cap, even though all three have contracts below $1m.

Today, the Sharks have 2G, 6D and 13F (healthy) on the roster. I'd expect one recall/activation of a D man before they head out on the road, minimum.

Carrick (LD) brought back while Chmelevski (Number 3 Prospect?) was scratched.

Hot take: Vlasic is being moved. And soon.
Chekhovich was scratched last weekend. Sommer is not afraid to scratch anyone he feels is not playing well. Chmelevski struggled in camp to find footing, and if that has continued to happen with the Barracuda, I could see Sommer making him sit out a game.

Carrick was only recalled as the 7th d, because there are only 6 on roster going into the game tonight. He will get sent down right after, or even during the game, when it is established that the 6 guys are all good to go.

This team needs to move Vlasic. We have too much $$ tied up in the defense with him here and no good fit for him in the defensive pairs. We need to somehow turn his $7M a year into money paid to a 30 goal scorer whether that's trading him directly for a scoring winger if possible or dropping him for futures and trading for someone else.
