We were never gonna finish bottom 3 or even bottom 5 (not even with last year's goaltending) but a bottom-10 finish was still possible if goaltending is not good. It would take a whole lot of luck to win that lottery. More than the Larsson lottery, Nico, Jack and Nemec combined.

Peep the white text at the bottom! Haha.

Ok, I am confused with your reply, but that is not new for me.

I put in the white text (which is very hard to see and hard on the eyes for me personally) that I don't really want him extended for 3 more years and I was just kidding.

I think that was an important game. To show themselves they can win a low-scoring game and defend a 1-goal lead. They limited the chances against when SJ was pressing, which is promising. Blackwood was great.

And they did it with some lacklustre performances from some top players.

Please go back to 12F/6D though. Smith is bad. Get Z in there.

I don't think so, I think he's possibly playing worse than normal.

But as I've said, he's not really worth complaining about. We've had way worse 4th line centers.

Somehow f***in shit ass Kevin Rooney has played for 3 different NHL teams for multiple years each (well, he's signed for multiple years for Calgary right now, but is only in his first year) and I always thought he was like a Rocky Balboa of hockey players, if Rocky hadn't ever beaten Apollo Creed and eventually other the 10 title defenses, Clubber Lang, Drago. Talk about a ham and egger.

And then hot rod and his 250+ games in the league.
Pelly is probably on my top 10 “least favourite “ Devil players list.

OK I got it, I did not see that. Who wants him for more than this season? I think that Fitz would have dumped him yesterday but I think the owners objected. I feel they object to the added cost of getting a quality coach. I think they feel that won't get anything for the dollars spent.

The Devils owners are very involved with the NBA, Downtown Philly, the 76ers and owner transfers. They are along for the ride with the Devils.

Their feelings, IMO, are more dollars invested in the Devils will not get a large enough ROI.

He was such a shitty, no-count try-hard. That's all he was.

He was so f***ing limited in ability. Lou loved him, Lemaire loved him, John MacLOSER loved him, but he was a f***in jackass loser suck coach. I don't think Brent Sutter liked him so much. DeBoer definitely did not like him and thank god of it. DeBoer spelled the long awaited end of this shit player as an NHL Devil forever. Same with his buddy Mark Fraser, who was traded with him.

Even if you look at his face, he just has the look of a ''BAD HOCKEY PLAYER''.

What exactly does a bad hockey player look like? Rod Pelley. Look up a picture of him.

I don't agree with that. Ownership has showed they have no problem spending this year. They gave Fitz the green light to spend. We're at the cap and we're paying guys like Bernier, who aren't even on the cap right now. We're paying Mark Recchi still. I don't know how much he makes. Nas's contract expired anyway, so we're not paying him. We're paying Schneider $2 million to not play here. I'm pretty sure we're either still paying Ray Shero or we paid him out.

Lindy Ruff likely makes considerably more than Recchi did, but I see no evidence this was a money move.

If anything, Jack Hughes had more to do with it than ownership and even then, Fitz may have wanted to give him another shot with improved roster and maybe goaltending.

Ownership was willing to eat Shero and Hynes both not even a year into new long term contracts. Obviously Nashville took care of Hynes. Shero has a job with Minnesota, but I don't think they're paying him his GM salary we owed him for that role.

Fitz wanted to continue to improve but hands tied money wise, IMO.

We're at the salary cap. How could he have possibly improved the team more? We have no more space to spend for this year.

You right as the numbers stand but they could have been adjusted IMO. I am not a believer in the owners caring about the Devils as a sport team and it's fans. They are not about winning the cup in 3 or 4 years.

The owners have been perfect since they bought the team. Tore it down when it needed to be tore down. Spent to the cap when it was time to say, "let's go".

You want to say that wasn't the owners? Then that's great too. Hire the right people at the top and stay out of it.

I have zero complaints about ownership. Id say about as good of ownership as you can realistically expect. Ya there might be better that spend crazy $$ on luxury items for the team and players and an army of support employees , but it could always be way worse. Crazy owner that tries to run the team themselves is one example like how Canaucks and Oilers have had issues with. Mot sure if there any others out there but that would suck.

I really have no clue, but it hasn't felt like we have cut corners.

And maybe that is something the ownership needs to go overboard on, especially given the team is in Newark (I mean this as a realist, it's, at best a work in progress).

Hilarious to me that people are shitting on the fans already cause of a 3 game winning streak that includes wins over 2 of the worst teams in the league. Do I want Ruff to succeed? Of course, why would anyone who is an actual fan of this team want us to suck yet again? But lets hold the horses on that this whole thing is turned around...

Fans have the right to alert staff and management of our expectations. I see no issue with the chants this early on. The time is now with this squad. No excuses.
