Jones on TV postgame interview:
- important win with the way they've been playing, they wanted to prove they could play with the top teams and win so tonight was big
- they've played well on the road, they've played well at home but haven't been abel to put it all together at once and it's cost them games
- playing more games, making sure you're doing things right away from the rink, taking care of yourself is the biggest difference
- they did a really good job against a skilled group of forwards, Braun had one of his best games of the year, everyone was solid defensively
- DeBoer is a positive guy, through tough times it really helps to stay positive, he's been a good influence on the team for sure
[Didn't notice that all goals were even-strength, but they pointed it out on the radio postgame.]
Zubrus on radio postgame interview:
- after his afternoon nap, he came down for his afternoon snack and the lineup was in the room, boys were having fun with it saying he had a good morning skate because he went from the 4th line to the 1st line
- [on his goal] they had a good forecheck a couple of times, puck squeezed by in the first period, in the second they felt better, Pavs was good on faceoffs and they got pucks back, on that play Jumbo jumped on the forecheck as fast as he's seen him jump, created a turnover, Zubrus was hanging out in the slot and Pavs got it to him, puck was jumping a bit but he was able to settle it down, put it in his backhand, and get it in
[Maley and Rusanowsky were jumping out of their seats for that goal]
- enjoys playing here, has played here before, his wife is from here, they spend their summers close enough to Montreal, had a few friends at the game tonight, it's a special place
