Their record reflects how strong of a team they are. I don't think you can ice this same 'core' next year and expect different results.

DJ was being blamed by the fans but the team looks worse without him? Strange.
Don't think a Leafs fan should be using this line. we literally been doing this for almost a decade

Do you guys think Treliving called and offered them Matthews straight up for Stutzle and the sens turned him down?

That shifty Tre would probably try to fleece those silly sens like that
do you really think Treliving is capable of fleecing a team?

Ottawa is having their version of New Jersey 21-22 season.

They'll bounce back next season with a new GM, coach and complimentary players to their young core.

Move along.

Bounce back to what? 7 straight misses? They've never done anything. They can't even pass the Habs in the standings, a team that's been riddled with injuries and started their rebuild two years ago. They're an embarrassment.

Incorrigible fanbase saying incorrigible things. Classic. Always good for a laugh, no matter the year.

They lose to all the teams they should beat, Arizona, Chicago and San Jose, while those teams are in the middle of awful stretches. For where they are supposed to be, can’t have that.

At this point, if the Sens continue to end the season with such a whimper - if you are a Sens fan, how can you not hope for some major roster changes this summer?

We've seen a contingent of Sens fans for years expressing an unshakeable faith in the talent level of this team. That players A, B, C thru G are "only X years old" and "can score X amount of points" and "are top X in the league at their position".

At every fail point the blame is on ownership, on management and on coaching. And that the glorious future is right around the corner.

I'm not here to say those issues haven't been bad or that some patience is a good thing. But at some point, patience in the players starts to become something of a blind overrating of the collective, even if the individual parts hold all this promise.

The Sens need to re-think this core group from the ground up this summer IMO. You obviously don't trade your stud pieces in a panic. But nobody has performed well enough to be a sacred cow and if you are developing an environment where certain pieces have been told they are invaluable no matter how they perform - that's only helping to create the problem.

Did Dubas ever

Trade Zibanejad for Brassard
Trade Stone for Brannstrom+2nd
Draft Tyler Boucher 10th overall
Cause a team to lose a future 1st due to not filing paperwork properly?

Previous guy in Vancouver was worse than Dubas or Dorion.

Was offered one of Luca Spisa or Shea Theodore for Ryan Kesler, chose Spisa
Traded Jared McCann + 2nd for Erik Gubrandson
Traded Gustav Forsling for Adam Clendening
Let Chris Tanev, Jacob Markstrom, & Tyler Toffoli walk in free agency for nothing because he was too busy trying to land OEL in a trade and when he couldn't, traded for Nathan Schmit
Next season, managed to dump Schmit, but not before trading a 1st and 2nd for OEL and Connor Garland.

The 1992-93 Sens were swept on the road against the western conference. In fact, they only had one road win all season, setting an unbreakable record of 41 road losses.

Yep too bad they don’t play the Atlantic all year, third best record in division, just behind Florida and Boston.

FYI- Ottawa has a better record vs the East, than the leafs, doesn’t bode well for leafs in playoffs.

That’s cool.

Ottawa should probably put more effort against the rest of the league.

It’s a strange argument. The Leafs have the best record against the West in the NHL, does that make them the best team in the West? Favourites against all the Western teams?

Guess leafs should have stayed in the west, because they’re not good in the east, leafs third worst record of 16 teams in east

Well Ottawa should be thankful then it got that big standings boost from playing in the Atlantic. Imagine where they would be without it.
