Previous guy in Vancouver was worse than Dubas or Dorion.

Was offered one of Luca Spisa or Shea Theodore for Ryan Kesler, chose Spisa
Traded Jared McCann + 2nd for Erik Gubrandson
Traded Gustav Forsling for Adam Clendening
Let Chris Tanev, Jacob Markstrom, & Tyler Toffoli walk in free agency for nothing because he was too busy trying to land OEL in a trade and when he couldn't, traded for Nathan Schmit
Next season, managed to dump Schmit, but not before trading a 1st and 2nd for OEL and Connor Garland.

The Reign of Error lasted 9 years because of an idiot owner who was on the hook for alimony from his ex wive. Jim Benning thought his shit didn't stick cause he made coffee in Boston, thought he was the smartest in the room and traded skill for grit/toughness.

Shit got so bad that people on the street were harassing his family, which he pleaded to the media to stop blasting them about their father.

Now, after that shitacular experience of bullshit...Jim Rutherford and Patrick Allvin turned the Canucks around from hot mess to top contender in the league. Took about 2 years and it'll still be a work in progress to fix Jim Benning's incompetence.

As to where Jim Benning is now, probably hiding in the witness protection program. Any team willing to hire him as a GM or assistant GM, please see his body of work in Vancouver.

Yep too bad they don’t play the Atlantic all year, third best record in division, just behind Florida and Boston.

FYI- Ottawa has a better record vs the East, than the leafs, doesn’t bode well for leafs in playoffs.

Guess leafs should have stayed in the west, because they’re not good in the east, leafs third worst record of 16 teams in east
I mean that's just variance.

What's happening?

They won their stanley cup (beating Toronto), they are mentally checked out
If I had a nickel for every time someone said this when a bad team beats Toronto I could retire.

Beating Toronto isn’t anyone’s Stanley Cup. Everyone does it. They don’t award dozens of Cups a year. No one respects the organization. Stop telling yourself lies to help cope with dozens of bad losses every season. Beating Toronto is barely anyone’s first round in real life. This sad go to statement needs to be retired.
