Kassian in the lineup does 2 things:

1) It ruins the capability of production from sources outside of those who are playing. Kassian gets little minutes = so does his linemates. Zibanejad and co becoming ineffective hence removing any source of legit secondary help.

2) Tires the guys who get double shifted and if they are having tough night to score... you're screwed.

These are guys that people complain about not getting enough ice time as it, so I don't get what the problem it. Too little, or too much ice time? It's one or the other.

The front page of the online Sun has a small picture with a text link that says we are playing the Wings (the linked story properly says Winnipeg :) ). Hope the guys show up in the right city.

They just fixed it. Shows that industry people do read this board. If they want I could also help them correct frequent spelling errors / typos in their stories (e.g. check the word "gane" instead of game in this story). In the MacArthur story "Winger Matt Kassian played instead" The game hasn't taken place yet so shouldn't it be "will play instead".

Doesnt really matter, when Matt plays our record is way better. I think its because the best players that night get double shifted in the 3rd.

Dont know why it works but it does.

Im glad Kassian's back in the lineup, its about time.

So Kassian is in the lineup but we waive Conacher? Ridiculous.

Two words. Budget Team. Get used to them. Until he sells or until the fan base in Ottawa actually pulls together a big enough group to put pressure on the Euge to spend appropriately and within reason to ice the best team possible on a cost-effective budget we will see the same **** happening.

Honestly, it's even more infuriating when you realize we gave Phillips 2.5M when we have guys who can bring what he does and more, with less mistakes, for far less money. Although, I'm guessing the gamble there is that we keep season ticket holders happy by retaining Big Rig. We also keep the dressing room happy too as noted by the Sens players comments on twitter. Much more of a PR and morale move rather than a hockey move.

Do people actually believe the bolded is possible? Astounding.

Melnyk has shown in the past that he's willing to spend when he feels he has a shot at a cup. Will he again? Nobody knows for sure, anyone claiming it to be written in stone one way or the other is full of ****. Right now, the Sens aren't even close. Bringing in a big name free agent like Clarkson, or trading for a guy like Vanek isn't going to help that, if anything both options take away from their chances going forward by depleting either cap sapce/money or assets. This team needs more time for their young players to blossom before they can seriously consider a run.

A phillips quality defenseman is going to make around what he's earning, like it or not. He's 100k above the league average, and that takes into account entry level contracts and fringe players. His contract is fair.
