That's cool, it was a one off for Hall. It would be a better argument for Hynes if Hall was consistently like that in NJ. Not to mention, they were a bubble team. He also coached Nashville to the bubble last year with Josi being a Norris nominee, Saros a Vezina nominee and a ton of guys shooting at 20%. He always caves his team's offense output.
But when Hall was not coached by Hynes, he wasn't MVP consistently, was he? And as mentioned in my previous post, production of other veterans (Henrique, Cammalleri, Zajac, Palmieri) didn't suffer under Hynes (when compared to seasons when they were not coached by Hynes) and several offensive prospects developed under Hynes.

What do you mean by 'bubble team'? They had bad to below average roster during his whole tenure here, his results were exactly what is expected with this kind of roster. I'm not following Nashville that closely but their roster seems alright but it's not elite roster that you expect to reach WCF or SCF (while also being light years ahead of NJD 2015-2019, those two aren't even comparable).

Wow.

I can't imagine he isn't picked up by one of ANA or CHI.

I thought it was funny then and still think it now. Poile messed up and now it's looking really bad. Poile needs to step back. But it'll just be some nepotism at work in Nashville anyway so it's been a treat seeing this one go the way it has. Seattle made off like bandits and they gave up nothing.

Not sure it's the best idea for a team that can't score goals to trade someone who can.

Also, it's really strange how many NHL coaches still don't do their best to take advantage of every player's skill set, treating them as individuals. This is supposed to be the most advanced league in the world but coaching is such a mess.

Oh, it's worse than that, he was waived.

Not only did Poile make a mistake, every team ahead of SEA did.
The other teams didn't have the same chance too see him pumping that shot every practice.

It is nice to see him getting some minutes lately too. Would be surprised if he doesn't end the season with more than 0,6 ppg with the Kraken.

Couldn't believe he fell into our lap. He is off to a spectacular start with the Kraken.

In the NHL coaching has never been at par with the level of skill.

Its an old boys club league.

We thought we tried him in a lot of different areas, different places."

Yeah, you tried him in places where he wouldn't succeed, wondered why he didn't succeed and then instead of letting him play with more offensive players tried to "get him through waivers" so he could put up numbers in the AHL so he could get another chance where you would then make the same mistake of playing him with a bunch of scrubs who can't score or set him up. Then you call him back up, do the same shit and wonder why he's not scoring. Clean house on this f***ing franchise.

Still pissed that the Flames didn't grab him. He would be a perfect fit, in an area of need, and they had the cap space.
Seriously, they are playing Lucic with Huby and Kadri. Just dumb.

Such an absurdly bad move by the Preds. Everyone saw this coming too, it's not like it came out of nowhere, people knew about the guy.

Even if he just turned out to be a PP specialist, the fact that we didn't try him on his natural side when we have one of the worst PPs and GF in the league is so incredibly frustrating as a fan. Not a lot of Preds fans are surprised he's doing well in Seattle.

You all aren't saying any thing different than what the majority of the Preds fanbase has been saying ever since Hynes was hired to this team by Poile. We are praying for change in the next few seasons, I doubt it comes. I'm scared of what the team will get if Poile's son takes over if he retires.

I am glad however that Tolvy is now in a system that will utilize his talents.
