I was at the Miami-St. Cloud series and came away very impressed with the Huskies' puck movement. The Friday game was one of the best the RedHawks have played in some time, which obviously isn't saying a lot, but it was still a great game to watch.

SCSU dominated on Saturday.

I've wanted to start a Miami thread here since I'm a season ticket holder for them, but it looks like I'm the only one here, and it looks like you're one of the only St. Cloud people here.

Maybe next year we start an NCHC thread?

Also, our coach said there will definitely be more changes to the conference structure in the next five years. Are you getting that on your end?

Miami's laid an egg this year but will come back strong in a year or two and I love the competition level. Our ticket prices have skyrocketed to pay for increased travel costs.

Haven't heard anything definite but i wouldn't be shocked if the league added 2 more teams (kato, bemidji would be my guesses)

Well done Huskies!

Congratulations. You've got a helluva team.

Looks like our RedHawks are headed up to play SCSU after a 2-1 at Denver tonight. I don't have much hope for Miami but they are playing a little better the last couple of weeks.

Gotta to be honest, didn't want to face Miami. All 4 games have been hard fought. You guys will not be an easy out and we know it.

Congrats to your Huskies. Well deserved. But I agree I wouldn't want to play Miami right now. They were picked to win the NCHC for a reason and now getting healthy. With that said it will take 3 games but the Huskies move on.

You were right...it was a great series. That's the best Miami has played since October.

St. Cloud will be fine. Probably end up with a two seed. You guys still have a great team.

I'm thinking we are a 3 seed. Will be in Minneapolis and Miami has gained a fan. Go win the whole thing. That's the Miami I expected to see. I will say though that series was horribly officiated. Let basically everything go through 2 periods tonight, called ticky-tack crap in the 3rd. Just garbage.

Miami got healthy at the right time. Would not be surprised one bit if they don't win the tourney in Minneapolis. Just hope my Sioux are there.

I don't they did a bad job at all on Friday, but like you said, to let them play for 40 and then take the game over was awful.

SCSU slipped further than I thought in Pairwise, so yeah, it looks like they may be a three. Not that it matters much in the tournament.

Just Coleman came back, but he's obviously made a huge difference since his return. We're still down three (Mullin -- TB fifth-rounder) and two defensemen. Our blue line is too small and soft (not that those were strengths before) and lacks depth as a result.

If Miami plays UND I hope they don't forget the shellacking the Sioux dished out in Grand Forks. I was hoping UND would have locked up a berth by now so maybe they'd take their foot off the gas, but both teams' seasons will be on the line.

Peterson back in the lineup for Cedar Rapids....will be a good RW for you next year.

Kuster has long been scheduled to be a 2015 recruit for SCSU but rumors around CR is that he may go next year.

It'd be a surprise to us if he came then. We are losing Gravel and a walk on but are bringing in Ilvonen. If he came, he'd be hard pressed for playing time.

On the recruiting front, SCSU picks up Eastview Junior goalie Zach Driscoll.

Huskies get a commit from Cedar Rapids defenseman Nate Widman for next season. That should do it for our 2014 class with
Widman
Ilvonen
Russell
Winiecki
Peterson
joining the squad.
Also with Indiana going dormant, Newell will play for Tri-City next year and Slattery will be in Fargo.

Another odd move for me. He was producing in the USHL, so to go to a lower league, even if it is coached by Harbinson seems like an odd move. Especially when it has usually been the case that the Canadian league kids adjustment period is longer than the ones coming in from the USHL.

Roster released. Nevalainen moves to #7, Storm to #4. Freshman are as follows
Widman #5
Peterson #17
Ilvonen #26
Winiecki #42
Russell #63
42 and 63 have never been worn, 63 now becomes the highest # worn in school history. And for the first time since the 90-91 season, #19 will not be worn.
