Rabid Huskies:

Is Faragher, the goalie, a senior? He was in Pittsburgh's development camp this past summer, and I was impressed with him. If he is a senior, I am hoping that the Penguins can sign him. If not, I want to see him return for his senior year. (I am not a fan of signing guys early.)

He's a sophomore. And with you guys signing Hartzell, I doubt he leaves, for Pittsburgh at least. He is a free agent though, so if someone gives him an offer, he could go, but I doubt he does leave.

Thank you Rabid Husky. I posted this a few days before Hartzell signed. That signing was a surprise to me. I doubt he, Faragher (sp?), signs with Pittsburgh now. I did enjoy his performance in the development camp scrimmage. good luck next season.

Cannot believe Jensen has not been signed by the Wings yet, what more does the kid have to do. If he walks in free agency next summer I am going to be beyond angry with Holland and Company. Lets not sign a first team all american!!!!

School is a big deal to Jensen. You have to remember that with college kids, hockey is only part of the equation. I think he will still sign with Detroit, you may just have to wait a year.

Rabid Husky, have you heard anything about Judd Peterson? He was quoted in the Cedar Rapids Gazette saying he was taking a week or two to decide if he wants to go to St Cloud or play another year or Juniors.

Here is the article where he says this:

http://thegazette.com/2013/04/12/roughriders-continue-strong-finish-topple-team-usa-2-1/

I haven't heard anything specific on him. But I would guess he goes back to CR. We are bringing in Tedesco and Hendrickson for sure and from the sounds of it, Papa is coming in as well. We only lost LeBlanc and Hano at forward so that's 3 guys to replace 2 and we are already pretty deep at forward. I don't know where Peterson would fit this year to be honest. Another year in CR may do him good as well after this past season with the injuries and inconsistency.

Good first road win. This team is still riding from what they learned through last year. The confidence they exhibit is great, they know they can win. To see that this early in the season, makes me excited to see what they are when they reach the high level of play they possess.
Go for the sweep tonight boys!

Didn't see any of the games as my daughter is now playing college hockey but it sounds like the better team won both nights. Congrats to your Huskies. Hakstol with his typical slow start. Gets old.

Faragher named NCHC goalie of the week. SCSU has won at least one of the NCHC awards each week it has played. Gravel was d-man of the week in week one and Prow and Papa won for D-man of the week and rookie of the week respectively in week three which was our 2nd series.

9-1-2 heading into the Thanksgiving break. Best start since going 12-1 in 01-02. Haven't givn up more than 3 goals in a game all year and no more than 2 in a game at home. Yet we are only 3-1-2 at home and a perfect 6-0 on the road. Offense has been somewhat inconsistent and the PP does need some time to work but after overhauling both units from last year, that's to be expected. But the D as a team has been fantastic. 2nd in the nation in defense has kept us in every game and we've gotten timely goals to win games. There is no fear in this team and there is a belief and an expectation to win that normally hasn't existed here. Not that I mind of course. :)

Results wise a great weekend in Duluth. Play wise, we played our worst game of the year on Friday but got the win. Saturday we played like ourselves and controlled the game from the puck drop. 8-0 on the road. Tough home test with Union coming up, then the Christmas break.

Huskies pick up a recuit in Lakeville born 6'1" 190# forward Blake Winiecki, currently playing for the Waterloo Blackhawks. He's got 27 points in 31 games and is tied for the team lead in goals with another SCSU recruit Patrick Russell. They have 16 on the season which puts them in a massive log jam tied for 7th in the USHL.

Team starting to round back to form. Hopefully we can pick up the sweep.
On the recruiting front, picked up 3 forward commits from Lakeville North, three brothers.

Prochno out with a lower body injury. Terrible timing for this. The guys stepped up without him last Saturday, hopefully they can do it again.
