I'm glad he got another year playing for London. It seems to have worked out pretty well for him.

I'm actually not all that in love with him being named Captain. I mean don't get me wrong, it's a great honor and a testament to his leadership, but it's a lot of pressure on a guy who's only making his first appearance at the WJC. It will be a real sink or swim scenario.

That is awesome news. Just out of curiosity, who were the last couple captains? I imagine being the Canadian team, he is in very good company.

I am excited for Boxing day to see a game on TV. HUGE up here in Canada. Tradition.

edit: To those that may question or aren't keen on it. He is a BORN leader.

Off the top of my head I know Richards was the one year & I'm pretty sure Brayden Schenn was during his last year of eligibility, I could be wrong on the last one though.

RNH was it last year iirc.

While not as super-star-studded as I had thought, that is still an impressive list. Pretty much everyone on that list is an impact NHL regular.

Love it. As for the pressure on Laughton's shoulders, these are the types of situations that he absolutely thrives in. I expect him to have a monster tournament. He might not be the leading scorer on the club, but I certainly expect him to be Team Canada's most important forward.

This is great news. Seems he's been a leader virtually everywhere he has played.

Hopefully Canada loses due to bad goaltender performance, because I can't root against Laughton.
