He probably gets a PTO or a cheap one year contract toward the end of the summer.

The league has passed him by, but he's still been contributing points in lesser roles so some team is going to offer him a deal.

13 goals and 11 assists in 62 games while averaging 12 minutes a game is solid. He had 37 points in 78 games the year before with Columbus while averaging 12 minutes as well.

It's from a while back, definitely, but it stuck.

I mean the fact that he even signed it Fartsmell. Legend.

Given his $3M buyout payment for next season, I could see him taking peanuts on a one year for one more crack at a Cup. Ideally it would be to a contender with limited cap space looking for bottom 6 depth and "intangibles".

I would say Fartsmell is probably done getting sniffs (no pun intended) at a top 6 role. I don't know the particulars on usage/linemates/etc., but you have a few different shades of Scott Hartnell from 17-18:

-Start of the year (10/5 - 11/7): Averaging around 15.5 minutes a game - 15 straight games - 4G (2PP) - 3A (2PP) - (-8)
-Return after almost month long injury (12/13 - 12/27): Around 10 minutes - 7 straight games - 0G - 0A - (+2) - 27PM (2 misconducts and a fighting major)
-Return after 1 game healthy scratch (12/30 - 3/1): Around 12 minutes - 26 straight games - 8G (all ES) - 6A (all ES) - (+8)
-In and out of line-up after Fisher returned (3/4 - 4/7): Less than 10 minutes - 13 games - 1G - 2A (1PP) - (-5)

If a team is getting 12/30 - 3/1 Hartnell for $1M or less, that's a pretty good signing.

He's a fantastic locker room guy. I think he'll get a deal somewhere.
