This....is hilarious.

Schneider has a big contract, but it's not a boat anchor. And if it is, the Canucks can't be interested with some of our contracts we will be looking to re-up. And New Jersey shouldn't be dumping a 1st to move a boat anchor contract (they have cap space). And if we're counting on him to recover, then why can't New Jersey? And it's circular.

I would be interested if he was available at a low price. Negative value is a stretch though.

This is based on cap dump trades like Bolland and Bickell.

Vancouver gets:

Schneider
Conditional 1st round pick (NJ can pick 2019 or 2020) to offset Schneider’s negative value.


New Jersey gets:

Nilsson as a replacement

Schneider for Louie Ericsson. Contract for Contract. Schneider will get better while Ericsson do not fit the Devils system. If the Devils are desperate enough to ship out Schneiders contract. I'm all for Tank for Jack even thou this team need Elite D.
