As it should be ....

Colton Sceviour's contract extension with the Dallas Stars is a one-way deal for both years.

Im glad they got him signed. I figured the biggest issue would be one-way vs two way. Giving him 2 years on a one way deal is the kind of stability i imagine would be impossible to pass up. Going from 100k to over 600k is massive.

Yeah the one way both years is why he signed. He gets guaranteed the money and has probably had conversations with Nill who's probably told him he's a lock to make the roster once Whitney and Fiddler are gone. Good for him and good for the organization.

Would love to see Sceviour and MacKenzie fill those two holes so other future trades can fill the prospect pool or fix the defense.

What was the line that he played really awesome on. Was it

Cole-Eakin-Sceviour?
or
Cole-Pevs-Sceviour?

Am I anywhere close? I remember him clicking really well with one line

It was Cole-Peverley-Sceviour. They flew too close to the sun.

Very happy to see him signed. Is he not a natural center though? Either way, the Cole - Pevs - Sceviour line was a very effective 3rd line, decent 2nd line.

He's played center in the AHL on a very, very limited basis. More early on in his career, and I don't think a single game this season.

Yeah he played some center in the WHL. In a pinch he could play all 3 forward positions although if you wanted to convert him to center full-time there would probably be a transition period to shake off the rust.

that is interesting
him and pevs as tweeners, I also see the rooster as someone that can eventually be a 4th line center with his faceoff ability---lots of versatility

then throw in eakin---as nill said when he got here--depth down the middle

DFW
Benn - Seg - Nuke
Cole - Pevs - Sceviour
Roussel - Eakin - Chiasson
McKenzie -Horcoff - Garbutt?

I actually kind of like that

Would be nice to add Ritchie to that next year, and hopefully Dickinson and/or Faksa the year after that.
