Value of: Sami Vatanen to the Devils

Devils need to keep drafting and develop their own Vatanen. Keep Henrique as good centers are hard to find in this league. I don't think NJ will be competitive in the next few years. Just keep building and do it right.

Both players have now extended in their respective cities too right? Or was Sami already on multi year contract? Either way this has become one of the more quality hockey trades we’ve seen

Sami has 2 year left on his contract from the ducks (This year coming and next). Henrique has 1 year on his contract from the Devils.(this season) and was extended by the Ducks starting in 2019-2020.

What a fine thread from the start where both fanbases were respectful and reasonable (unseen on HFB before) and it all ended up deeecently close to realistic result.

Loved Vatman, still do and I am happy he`s doing great. And thanks to Montour who made it easier to lose Vatman (otherwise we probably don`t do this trade)

I'm really happy that Henrique has worked out for us so well. I loved Sami here. If Henrique flopped for us, it would be painful to watch Sami's success in NJ. Being happy with this deal allows me to root for Sami now without any hard feelings. I hope it works that way for NJ fans as well.
