In section 105, center ice seats...saw a couple ducks scouts

Gotta say, it's a little ridiculous how McDavid-centric this whole event has shaped up to be. Of course he's the big star here, but it's Erie vs. Niagara, not mcdavid vs. Niagara. Skate with mcdavid for $397, pack 97 event for $97...for every goal Connor Mcdavid scores, this happens...although I did cave and buy a tshirt :laugh:

It's turning a largely neutral location into an otters home game (although that really was the purpose) despite Niagara being geographically closer

I'd imagine they're just publicizing some of the upcoming team promotions at FNC, as that was highlighted on the Erie website too:

Amy Moritz - McDavid back on the ice starts a beautiful play highlight by some absolutely beautiful stick work from Nick Betz who fed rookie Alex Debrincat for his second goal of the game. 7:30.

@OHLIceDogs - 13:55 - IceDogs answer right back! Fitzmorris with a great play to feed Payne all alone out front. We're tied up again.
@ErieOtters - Aaaaaaaaaaand we’re tied again. Payne gets it behind Williams with 6:05 to go. 2-2.
Amy Moritz - Not to be outdone, that was a sweet pass from Mitchell Fitzmorris to Cody Payne as Niagara ties the game.

@OHLIceDogs - 14:33 - Mikulovich goes off for hooking. IceDogs will be shorthanded for the second time.
@OHLIceDogs - 15:09 - The goal fest continues. The Otters strike on the power play to take a 3-2 lead.
@ErieOtters - GOOOOOAL! @MacDerm23 get’s one on the PP and it’s 3-2 #Otters!

@OHLIceDogs - 15:51 - IceDogs will get a chance on the power play. Fox off for tripping.
@OHLIceDogs - 16:07 - Moran absolutely robs McDavid on a shorthanded breakaway.
Amy Moritz - That was what we've been waiting to see. Shorthanded, McDavid takes the puck, explodes through the neutral zone then weaved
the puck around the defender to go in one-on-one with the goalie. He didn't score. But it didn't matter. It was electric.

@OHLIceDogs - 18:14 - Caron nails McDavid with a solid hit.
@ErieOtters - GOOOOOOAL!!!! @MacDerm23 gets his second!! It’s 4-2!

How is it ridiculous? Its a Erie Otters home game - they gave up a home game to play here. Its an Erie Otters presentation. It will be all Erie Otters - promotions - jerseys in the Sabres store. (Erie wouldn't even allow Niagara to bring some of their stuff into the Sabres store.) Niagara is just the away team tonight.

I said that I think it's a little ridiculous how Mcdavid-centric everything is, I'm fine with it being an otters presentation. I forgot that it was a deal primarily struck with the otters

It's almost as if he's being promoted to the city of buffalo and being implicitly linked with the sabres, when mcdavid in a sabres uni is no guarantee. Or maybe this is how everything is run in Erie. I wouldn't know, I don't live in erie

@OHLIceDogs - 1:16 - Donnay's point shot eludes the traffic and beats Moran. 5-2 Otters.
@ErieOtters - GOOOOOAL!!! @TroyDonnay makes it 5-2 with 18:44 to go in the 2nd! Assist to @mush__27!

@OHLIceDogs - 2:59 - MacDermid gets called for hooking and the IceDogs will have a chance to cut into this lead.
@ErieOtters - @OHLIceDogs get a chance with a PP. @MacDerm23 off for hooking.
