Claimed off Waivers: Sabres claim Remi Elie

Hmmm...watched a few Stars games and this guy usually jumped out at me with his speed and looked like one of their best bottom 6ers.

Not sure why they waived him.

Roope Hintz made the team and for a waiver exempt rookie forward to make the team someone had to be waived. Elie is a great energy guy but very limited. It was probably between him and Gemel Smith. Stars chose Smith and its probably the correct call.

He has to stay on Sabres roster for atleast 3 days or 10 games correct? I think Scott Wilson breaking his ankle led to this claim

30 days, but the rest is correct (I assume that 3 was simply a typo).

Big fan of his work ethic. Kind of a shame he doesn't have the skill to match it.

I'll echo what everyone said, I saw him play in Cedar Park quite a bit. He was always noticeable, fast but just didn't light the lamp that often. I think it's a great pickup for Buffalo, and with Hintz and Smith bringing way more offensive upside to us, it makes sense. I'd put him on the 2PK for sure and he still could find a solid role on a team.
