It's a mess what the fans are expected to do here. Instead of taking action, everything is glossed over. 14 years of this shit again and again and nothing changes.
Why did they extend Okposo for 2.5 million? Why a Girgensons for 2.5 million? Such players wouldn't get more than 1 or a maximum of 1.5 million elsewhere. That's what I mean when I've often written buddies for life. This is a family franchise, where sporting success doesn't have the highest priority.
8.5 million for power is a bad joke. The same mistake as Skinner back then. And Cozens was just waiting to get his fat contract, now he has it and he's producing zero performance. We knew that the goalie position was more than vacant and nothing was taken over. All hope was placed on a rookie, and that alone is a reason to fire adams

They don't have the poise yet to withstand a heavy/fast forecheck and exit the D-zone effectively. Some inexperience among the D-corps, and some laziness among the FWs to be back far enough to help.
They don't have the bodies, or the mentality to settle for dump/chip and chase when so many teams are playing 1-3-1. They don't want to, don't have FWs going into the zone for retrievals often enough, and don't have the willingness to cycle or get in the slot/crease.
They apparently don't have the coaching to stop these errors through 1/4 of the season, don't have the coaching to clean up mistakes in decision making, puck handling, errant passes. Don't have the coaching to hold anyone accountable or to instill any passion and intensity in their game.
This is an all out failure, but clearly to me it's mostly a coaching issue. This roster didn't go from showing lots of potential to lots of calamity in one summer, all while supposedly being coached into a more responsible game, without a major lack of direction from the staff. Mitts, Peterka, Jokiharju, and UPL have all improved individually. Cozens, Krebs, Power, and Samuelsson have been letdowns.
This is not all about young players struggling. This is about a major lack of coaching a talented roster that only misses experience and physicality. KA is not the major problem. The holes we all thought would be problems have actually improved. The entire team plays a terrible game that they aren't proficient at, and mutes their talent, and has them overthinking and underplaying.
The biggest fix is hiring a coaching staff with experience and a positive track record. Anything shy of that won't move the needle. Not next year, not the year after.

Nothing. And I mean nothing, changes, be it GM, HC asst C, developmental path , win now, soft skilled, nasty gritty, young goalie vs seasoned vet, shake it up stay the course, unless Terry says so. Vent all you want at the symptoms. The disease is much worse.
