In all fairness to the ref he was 10 feet away from the slash and had a completely unobstructed view. Can't catch everything, right?

Don’t get me wrong, refs normally make bad calls and miss the real ones, but there was no penalty worthy slash on that play. Nowhere close.

hit him in a bad spot at an awkward angle. It was no way some kind of obvious whack.

Hopefully Mitts is back soon

Short glove cuff issue.....? No slash guards?

Honestly, a lot of players these days wear gloves with cuffs that easily expose one's wrists. It provides them with better puck control..

And exposes their bare wrists to any of carbon titanium based slashes.
