I see he still hasn't got over us overpaying him millions of dollars...

Kind of funny how we spend most of our time here complaining about how bad the Oilers are.

A player does it however, time to discredit them!

Big difference between a fan who has no impact towards the on ice outcome of a game and a guy who was an ingredient in this mess that is the Oilers.

Fans that go to the games pay for their "enjoyment". Whitney got paid for a job that he was unable to perform.

But, meh, he will be a dynamo in the KHL with his witty Twitter comments..

Whitney hasn't been a part of the team in 2 years, and his own personal decline was the result of career threatening injuries. Even if you wanted to discredit him on the basis of his inability to perform, it still discredits the organization(which did nothing to fill in the hole his injuries created) more than it does him.

He had zero control in the outcome of the team's performance, or even his own career.

Yeah, he played on the team and was absolutely ineffective. I would say that is having a part in the outcome of the team's performance. As well, he was picked up by the Oilers when very few teams had any interest in him based on his history of injuries.

Wasted effort on this thread - who cares what he said.

Ha. That was kind of sweet. Not laugh out loud funny or anything, but worthy of a slight smile.

It's too bad he caught his skate in a rut and wrecked his ankle. I thought he was pretty good before that injury.

Kinda funny. Don't see the harm in it. Falls into the same category as the Kings mascot holding up the "Hockey for Dummies" book behind the Oilers bench.

If the players or organization has a problem with it, there's alway the obvious solution - win some friggin games.

At least he's not being obnoxious about it and embarrassing himself like Mike Commodore is.
