Brown is big. He will fight on occasion. He's not that good at it. He plays a physical style and he likes to agitate and plays on the edge. That's sometimes what leads to his fights.

A change of scenery is probably a good thing for Bourque. For us Brown would be an insurance policy if 4 or 5 of our forwards get hurt.

Interesting. Possibly borque was mad he wasnt the call up a few weeks ago? Just speculating. Either way, we get a kid still under contract next year instead of losing borque for nothing. And brown has size and strength

I'm sure you know it's time to get out when they sign Dan Paille off another AHL team to play NHL games instead of you.

Per HF circa a year ago:

Brown remains an intriguing prospect because of his size (6’2, 210 pounds) and his ability to score. He very much plays the big man’s game, using his size well to get through the muck. Brown has shown an ability to score goals at every level, though it remains to be seen whether or not he can do so on the NHL level. His skating is a plus as he has good speed and mobility despite his size. Consistency remains the biggest question mark for him as he struggles to live up to the potential that made him a second round pick back in 2009.

So we pretty much traded a small 25 year old career AHL guy for a big 25 year old AHL guy. Pretty much inconsequential.

Interesting that the guy's only played 20 games for Hershey this year

Edit: Supposedly he's been healthy scratched a lot

I don`t understand this trade - why do we need an AHL center?
Maybe they have plans to trade D. Moore, thoughts?
But since we have Eric Staal now - Hayes could play a 4th line center as well.

Could be the Veteran status rule in the AHL limits the number of games teams can ice those types of players.

I liked his game in the world juniors several years back, big physical and fast. Hard hitting righty shot.

It's a good thank you move for RyBo who gave it his all every night in HFD.

It's a good depth move for the Rangers as it gives them a 4th line RW option that's plays a more fitting game for that role.

Trade the Wolf Packs captain away, a leader on the team, for a player who is definitely not better than him and who has been a healthy scratch often. Yea makes sense.

AHL trade or not, this wasn't a good trade unless there was something behind the scenes with Bourque.

Bourque was yet another guy we would have had to resign.

I don't know what to say it's a little embarrassing that on hockey's future people don't know hockey prospects, Chris Brown played with Carl Hagelin at Michigan. And played on the US National team with Ryan Bourque and Emerson Etem.

Brown was known for his size and physical play, drafted pretty high at the 09 draft.
