Maybe, but the challenge there is I think waiver priority is based on last season's standings so we won't be well positioned to claim anyone worth a damn.

That said, I would keep an eye on defensively minded C's and "truculent" gents

Cant really see it unless there is an injury or Lavoie/Pederson/Sutter bomb. But maybe theres a 4C that they like out there that has a chance to hit waivers.

Maybe we don't pick anyone up on waivers, but is there another Kostin like situation where we make a trade for a guy that clears waivers?

The Grubbe trade is kind of like that. Former draft pick the original team didn’t want anymore that we picked up for near nothing. But it’ll take like 10 more of these to find another Kostin though if history has shown us anything.

Stauffer keeps talking about LW Brett Murray being claimed from the Sabres. Huge body, Jeff Jackson was his agent. Can only see this happening if Holloway shits the bed on LW however or some sort injury on the wings.

IT is unlikely. A combination of the cap since the player would have to go on the roster and the fact that they are near the bottom of the priority list makes a waiver pick-up a challenge.

You’d think Yzerman could throw us a bone. Like maybe gift us a sniping winger that he doesn’t want at 50% retention for only like a 7th round pick and a D prospect. Oh wait he sent Vrana to St Louis. Oh well, we probably didn’t even ask him about that.

Seems weird to me. Its basically a bigger and less successful Erne. Team doesnt need bottom 6 LW's.

Waivers fodder players are typically league minimum'ish players.

We’ve helped him out so much and he still can’t make the playoffs, what a failure.

I will say though, it’s awfully nice of him to gift us over 5M cap space in the season the value of cap space is probably at its absolute peak.

Takes awhile to dig a franchise out of a hole that someone left.

We’ll see how much that “gift” looks like a gift when Kostin plays games for them.

the bone was taking Yams to get Kostin. We could not buy out Yams.
