No fourth line shown in the tweet. Who's on their 4th?It absolutely is, I wonder what that deal would look like

I would still take him. Guy just doesn't want to wear a jersey. He's not out there starting anti lgbtq riots. This is more on the media for trying to make a big story/peer pressure.
I take it back, f*** this guy, stay miserable in Philly forever
Inclusivity and acceptance by banishing and shaming any person that doesn't participate. That's the problem. It would be one thing if he was acting aggressively anti lgbtq. It's another thing to quietly try to avoid participating.
At the end of the day, he is a talented player that is going to be traded at reduced price. Some team will take advantage.
So he’s homophobic now? What kind of mental gymnastics is this? This just shows you have absolutely zero clue what the LGBTQ community has endured and gone through. None. See, the problem of staying silent is you condone the action. You are part of the problem. Defending him speaks volumes about you. Intolerance is something we should not accept. You do you and keep. Defending homophobia
Take it somewhere else. This is a trade proposal thread. What kind of mental gymnastics is this? This just shows you have absolutely zero clue what the LGBTQ community has endured and gone through. None. See, the problem of staying silent is you condone the action. You are part of the problem. Defending him speaks volumes about you. Intolerance is something we should not accept. Obviously. That's how this works. So he’s homophobic now?
Sorry, but you're the one doing gymnastics here. What kind of mental gymnastics is this? This just shows you have absolutely zero clue what the LGBTQ community has endured and gone through. None. Or agree to the ability to negotiate non guaranteed contracts. You want more flexibility, pay players less.
Burke was kind of bang on about it all. Go figure eh?You want more flexibility, pay players less.
Problem is, it's sort of unavoidable. Like the nurse contract, after Jones had set the market, oilers were somewhat screwed, forced to a bad contract the moment it was signed.Burke was kind of bang on about it all. Go figure eh?
100%.You want more flexibility, pay players less.
I guess I just don't understand comparables logic when it comes to contracts. It doesn't seem to take into account the teams that players play for and how it affects the guys signing the contracts.Problem is, it's sort of unavoidable. Like the nurse contract, after Jones had set the market, oilers were somewhat screwed, forced to a bad contract the moment it was signed.

But everyone who isn't gung ho for Provorov's head is now going to be labeled a bad person, bigot, transphobe, blah blah blah.
It's the all too common "that's racist and if you don't agree you're a racist too!" logic that gets fired around everywhere these days.
Sadly no need for the sarcasm he will be vilified for being true to himself.Obviously. That's how this works.
Yeah there is probably pressure from the nhlpa and player agents to drive up prices too. But what is a GM supposed to do outside of preemptively trading ufa's. You can't just let a player walk for nothing, yet all your negotiating power is gone.I guess I just don't understand comparables logic when it comes to contracts. It doesn't seem to take into account the teams that players play for and how it affects the guys signing the contracts.
I can't remember if Makar signed after Jones. If he did, he clearly should have gotten more, and if he didn't, how on earth Jones got the same money and set the market for everyone else is mind boggling.
Just seems like piss poor negotiating.
Yeah. I do think they jumped the gun on Nurse a bit, too. Worst case scenario is he comes out last year and continues that level of play outside the North division and shows you he's worth it and maybe more. In which case you're happy to sign a legit #1 to legit #1 money. Best case is he comes out and shows what he did, and you get him for less. They had all year to sign him, so it just looks like more of what Burke said. Bad approach. But the team was definitely in tough at the thought of having Nurse walk.Yeah there is probably pressure from the nhlpa and player agents to drive up prices too. After watching the last few games, especially tonight, if I'm upgrading the Oilers at LD, I upgrade Kulak and move him in that deal.
Broberg can be 3LD
I want them to bring in a legit point per game forward like Horvat. I think that will make a bigger difference than a second pairing defenceman, and I think it'll be an easier deal to make. Plus, they have a good thing going with the young defencemen on this team right now, I don't think it's worth breaking it up.
I have no idea what his reasoning is so I won't speculate. All I know is people will immediately draw their conclusions and won't budge, and anyone who says they don't see a problem will also fall into the crosshairs.I tend to agree but I would also ask "why would provorov refuse if he knew it would make people upset"? I would argue that he either didnt think this through or he has some very strong opinions against the LGBTQ community. Like what's the risk reward here? What's the benefit of refusing to wear the Jersey? Its not like they are asking him to wear assless chaps and skate around with a pride flag. The whole point was to show that part of the fan base the team supports them. The whole thing backfired when Provorov (an ambassador of the team) refused to support them.
