If I’m not mistaken the Oilers signed Forsberg to 2yrs so they could expose him in the expansion draft. If they sign a guy it might be for 2 years for this reason and he needs so many games or whatever to be eligible. Too bad, I liked Forsberg for that reason.

Forsberg was only signed for one year. There’s no games played requirement for goalies in expansion, just have to expose one that’s under contract the following year or has been given a qualifying offer. They’ll likely just qualify Skinner to meet that requirement.
