1.Who do you see rounding out the Roster? Jooris, Holl, Marchment

2. Who will be the biggest surprise?
Mason Marchment. A long shot I know, but he's had a history of being a late bloomer and I think he has the training camp of his life. He had an impactful season and playoff with The Marlies. I think he could be the 4th line LW.

3. Who will the biggest let down?
Leivo once again. He is so close to being a bottom 6 forward in the NHL, but never seems to want to show enough heart to be part of it.

4. Do you see TOR trading/PTO for one of the spots?

I see TOR using Brown in a trade for a defenseman. It won't be a one for one trade. He will be a piece.

Can't keep him in the press box forever. Use em' or lose em'.
Well, Kapanen and Johnsson play faster, more complete 2-way games......the writing was on the wall last year when both leapfrogged Leivo.

4th line left wing options:
Leivo- incumbent but needs to convince Babs
Ennis - press box fodder
Moore - injury call up
Marchment-injury call up
Grundstrom - long shot- needs ice time on Marlies

4th line Centre options
Lindholm - job to lose at camp
Jooris - needs to outplay Lindholm by a large margin - injury call up
Brooks-injury call up
Gauthier-dark horse- needs to have worked on skating during the summer and be fully recovered from injuries.

6th + 7th D man
Righties...
Carrick- incumbent
Holl- will be given opportunity to make team. Probably the #7 D
Liljegren - long shot- needs ice time on Marlies

Lefties..
Dermott - incumbent - lock
Rosen - injury call up
Borgman- injury call up

Any lineup with Leivo in the top 12 will be incorrect.

Read in the paper today ennis lindholm grundstrom, however it was just speculation of course
Speculation you say? I like it! I.m betting Ennis gets every opportunity to make this team and Lindholm didn't come to be a Marlie. Also Grundstrom brings an element the Leafs need! Was wondering if Marchment fits in,Leafs could use that sandpaper.

Ya, I would like to see all those given a true shot, whats the worst that could happen. Also off topic, hearing that nylander is hinting at wanting an 8 year deal. This is good right?

Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander
Marleau-Tavares-Marner
Hyman-Kadri-Brown
Leivo/Ennis-Lindholm-Kapanen

Rielly-Zaitsev
Gardiner-Carrick
Dermott-Hainsey

Borgman, Rosen and Igor battling for #6 spot.

Seems unlikely Hyman will be separated from Matthews, but I feel like Johnsson is better suited for that line.

Hyman moves to Kadri's line. Brown and Kapanen are interchangeable.

As for the defence, this was the toughest part. I think Zaitsev bounces back and finds a spot next to Rielly again.

There's already been a lot of talk about Hyman playing with Tavares. I think, at least for game one, we see:

Hyman - Tavares - Marner
Marleau - Matthews - Nylander
Johnsson - Kadri - Brown
Free for all - Lindholm - Kapanen

I actually agree with you on Zaitsev though. If Zaitsev comes back to form, I think it makes a lot of sense to pair Hainsey with Gardiner.

Rielly - Zaitsev
Gardiner - Hainsey
Dermott - Free for all

Looks solid, except I think you forgot one other RD that might even disperse Carrick if he's as good as his highlights appear to be.
