Not concerned with what HFer's think of Burrows... but I would be interested to hear what some of the opposing players who have played against him and his antics have to say about being on the same team.

I don't like it.

Not taking anything away talent wise from Burrows, but the guy is flat out a piece of **** on the ice and wouldn't surprise me if some players just straight up don't like the guy regardless how nice he is off the ice.

so are duncan keith, pk subban, dion phaneuf, and corey perry. i'm sure they'll get past it.

i highly doubt Burrows risks his place on this team with his usual antics. chances are he'll be quiet and do his job.

Why does it matter what opposing players say? Hes going to be hated by many, but he's one of the hate to play against, love to play with players that after this tournament his team mates will see him in a different light. The question should be what do his team mates say, because I dont really think any NHL player cares what the opposition thinks.

Burrows is a very good player. One of the players on the Canucks I would never consider trading.

Very underrated and I hope he proves everyone wrong. You can count on this guy to play well at every area of the ice.

Duncan Keith is from my home town (Penticton) and he is a class act. He messed up with the Sedin elbow and I bet he regrets it. Clearly you're homer Canucks fan if you think he's an ass in the locker room, on the ice, or wherever. I'm tired of Canucks fans crying about the Sedin elbow. Your team lost because they are too soft, not because Sedin didn't play the first 3 games. Get over it.

Doesn't that play alone prove that he can be an ass on the ice sometimes? There have been other instances also. Plus I think the posters point was that they will be fine in the dressing room/as teammates. The same goes for Burr. Sure he may act like a moron on the ice sometimes, but the guy has tons of heart and his teammates adore him. He's an awesome person to play with.

Good points.

However only really PK is on the trolling level of Burrows from that list. Perry has toned down on the extracircular activies and focusd on hockey... Keith has a dirty hit, but wouldn't call him a dirty player.... and everyone in the league knows Phanuef is all bark, no bite.

Normally it doesn't but with a tournament like this you may have to play with some of those opposing players.

My concern is more of a rift in the room.

If the players are cool with it, obviously I am.

I think Burrows was selected out of merit, but I should probably point he is only 1 of 2 French Canadian players on the roster.

Team Canada, after all, should represent Canada.

Team Canada, after all, should represent best players in Canada.

Don't put words in my mouth. the person i responded to was saying that players don't like him because of on ice antics and that it could cause a problem. i'm saying that i think the players will look past it.

I didn't say any one of those players act poorly off the ice. i added names to make a list of players on this team that other players involved probably have on ice issues with. my beliefs about off ice behavior are the contrary. there are very few players that i believe behave poorly off the ice. Keith isn't one of them and i can assure you that burrows isn't either.

as for the series, sedin being out wasn't the reason we lost you are right about that. however, it wasn't because the team was too soft either.

Too much hate.. HC asked Burrows to go and he accepted, which is more than you can say for a lot of others. I'm sure they asked him for a reason.. Like biting off Malkins fingers! kidding kidding.. ;)

seriously though, I have no problems with it.. and I Cannot effin wait for this to start!!!!!!!!!!! :handclap::yo::nod:

Playing with guys you didn't formally like happens in pro sports all the times. They're pros - they'll put their beefs aside in order to win and probably develop some respect for each other in the process.

Also Burrows cleaned up his act just as much as Perry has. His play between the whistles is fine, though I will be the first admit he needs to steer clear of scrums.

Team Canada, after all, should represent best players in Canada.

Of course, and that's the main reason why he's in the line up. :)

News for you buddy: Your mancrush, Duncan Keith, is quietly one of the most dirtiest players in the league. This may be the first time he's been suspended, but its certainly not the first time he's done classless crap like that. The only reason he'll regret that elbow on Daniel Sedin is that is the one time he didn't get away with it.

Clearly you must be some sort of Penticton Keith homer to think otherwise.

Bouwmeester playing on the Flames kind of skews any relevant ice time comparison.

I just told you top defensive defense-men play on the Flames and Bouwmeester still plays top minutes on the PK every game.
2) Playing for the Flames skews the results? Do you know how ridiculous you sound? Flames penalty kill was fifth in the west this year, San Jose's penalty kill was second last. Yes second last. So once again Vlasic above Bouwmeester on the penalty kill is ridiculous and absurd.

Isnt that why we have oreilly and sharp

So we only need one or two players who can perform that role? Do we only need one or two players who can score?

I think it's safe to say that a lot of the people jumping on Burrows here haven't watched him play game in and game out. He's an incredibly versatile player who would be an asset to any team in the league. Was he the best player remaining who could be added to the roster? Perhaps not, but he'll perform his role (whatever is asked of him) to a T.

As for the concern some have about how Burrows' teammates will receive him, these guys are professionals. There are plenty of players who have buried far bigger hatchets than some of these guys might have with Burrows. They'll care more about the crest on the front than the name on the back.
