Proposal: ROR to COL

With rumors of Stastny potentially coming back, would Colorado welcome ROR back the same? He got paid, Roy is gone, and that $7.5M AAV doesnt look as bad as it did now that the cap is going up and Colorado NEEDS to spend some money.

Assuming you get past the first part of would you welcome him back, what would you give up for him? Buffalo seems to be mirroring COL in that rebuild mode so I assume picks, prospects, and very young players are ideal.

Hardly the same in any sense. ROR wanted to get paid and COL was using Duchenes $6M as the internal salary cap. Those days are gone.

Because contrary to what a lot of people on this think board, the Sabres fans don't want to trade their second best player for spare parts.

ROR is locked in until 22-23. Not like they'd be trading for Skinner who could walk in a year. And the Avalanche need to sign someone for a decent chunk of change. Stastny, JVR, Neal, Perron. Overpaying any of them seems like a much worse idea than ROR depending on what we give up.
