Has Kempe been this Bad? I know he’s been struggling for a while and he seems to be taking many penalties, but has he been this bad? (Haven’t got to watch a he Kings this season)

1 goal in 42 games, taking a minor penalty just about every game.

He's been terrible. We've been wanting to send him down to the AHL on the Kings board.

Horvat: 8/10 (still trapped in his own end too often but has carried the team offensively since EP went down)
Boeser: 3/10 (coming off an injury, still doesn't look 100%)

Goldobin: 5/10 (Looking good but struggling to produce without EP)
Eriksson: 1/10 (Decent PKing and defensive play but overall efffort level and offensive ability is lacking)
Sutter: 5/10
Virtanen: 5/10 (Decent to good defensively. Still not much of a threat offensively)
Leipsic: 2/10 (unable to get in the lineup consistently after a pretty decent half season last year)
Schaller: 3/10 (Dime a dozen fourth liner. Started awful but has been better lately)
Beagle: 5/10 (Filled his role adequately so far)
Roussel: 4/10
Motte: 8/10 (Good motor, really exceeded expectations but has low upside)

Skjei is an 8 out of 10? Are we watching the same team? Quinn hasn't played DeAngelo enough for me to give him a rating. Same with Namestkinov. Shattenkirk is another tough one to rate because the coach is giving players like Pionk more PP time than him. I think Chytil at a 6.5 is a little high too. Not effective at NHL level. Vesey might be a 9 if he could actually finish, but he cant.

That said, the rest of the list isnt bad. I think a lot of the players performance has to due with Quinn mismanaging his roster.

Phoenix Copley 8/10. I want to put him first because he’s been surprisingly good, made several huge saves. It’s just unfortunate for him those games happened to be nights the Caps skaters disappeared so far.

Ovechkin 10/10. Doing his job

Kuznetsov 9/10. Doing his job, and pushing himself to earn more PK time.

Carlson 8/10. On fire. Not always been his best defensively.

Backstrom 10/10. Typical.

Oshie 10/10. Good scoring pace.

Jaskin 8/10. For his given role, he’s doing well. I notice him a lot more than I usually notice 4th liners

Vrana 7/10. Still not doing a ton, but he’s been very visible recently. Promoted to first line.

Djoos-Orpik Pairing 7/10. They’ve been pretty good this year, Djoos doesn’t deserved healthy scratch, but he’s got it.

Not gonna bother with the rest of the team individually. They play great some nights, and disappear for periods at a time in others. An Average start of the season for the Caps
