I might tune in to see how Kuhnhackl does, Penguins prospect.

Is there any tv coverage? The iihf live ticker is a joke..

Should be a win for Germany..finish the tournament with a few goals and a victory!

Well, I guess Germany is going to win this since it doesn't mean anything.

It's really sad that they (the Germans) were not able to show better hockey. And I am a bit disappointed by some high rated players that they were not able to be more effective. And after some years maybe it's time to change the trainer. At least it shouldn't get worse with another one.

Can't find a stream anywhere, IIHF ticker it is. :shakehead

Kuhnhackl scores! Delighted for him, a real prospect. More please.

Good for him. This should be a win for Germany, but guys like Kuhnhackl, Rieder, Hofflin and Abeltshauser really need to step up their games offensively.

Yes, I was really disappointed that they didn't get on the scoreboard a little more. Those guys proved this season, that they can score at this level. But I guess it's easier to score for teams like Kitchener and Windsor than for Team Germany. Especially since German teams usually don't play a very offensive minded game.

And I think EVL might be right that they should consider changes in the coaching staff. Maybe a coach who is more accustomed with junior hockey in North America would help this team more.

Yep, most of the German games were not broadcasted anywhere.
I really hope Tom makes it to the NHL in a few years, so I can finally see a little more of him. It's still a long way to go, but the potential is there.
I hope he starts scoring again right away when he is back in Windsor.

He's got 33 points in 33 games for the Windsor Spitfires, maybe a progression up to the AHL next season, maybe further. On the same roster as Kassian, Ellis and Khokhalecv so he's got other good youngsters around him.

I'm a little torn when it comes to this. On the one hand I'd like him to play at the highest level of hockey as possible next season, on the other hand it is his first year in North America and he still has some maturing to do, and definitely needs to add some weight to his lanky frame. So maybe it would be better to play another year in the OHL.

But I trust the Pens to make the right decisions for his development.

Yeah, I agree that if he goes up the ladder too quickly then he'll fizz out, I'd like him to be given a chance in the AHL nearer the end of the season should the play-offs be secured early for the WBS.

For Team Germany I think he is playing in a line with Rieder and Noebels, who is doing a good job in the WHL and I think he was Germanys top scorer at the last D1A tournament. And Kuehnhackl played in a line with Rieder for an entire season last year. Maybe they have not exactly the same level as Ellis or Khokhalecv but should be good enough for some points imo.
Kuehnhackl had no points in the first seven games in the OHL. Maybe he will end with an average above one point per game. And Rieder was a top10 scorer after the first 15 to 20 games in the OHL.

if the proposed structural changes don't go through, the loser of this game actually gets the easier group in 2012.

Winner with - Belarus, Austria, Kazakhstan, Croatia, France
Loser with - Slovenia, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Poland

Of course if the changes go through, the'll both be in one group anyway with Slovenia, Belarus, Austria & Great Britain.

haha, I think Norway just ended their 18 games losing streak in elite division or something like that.
