Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 188, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The boys are taking a break, but that didn’t stop them from making new content! Today we’re going to take an in-depth look around the Detroit Red Wings potential prospect targets.

While the likes of Larkin, Bertuzzi, and Lucas Raymond continue to impress, there are still plenty of spots to be filled on the Red Wings roster.

We score out some of the top names on the Unrestricted Free Agent List as well as a few top Restricted Free Agents Candidates in the NHL for the 2022 offseason.

We ask: Does Steve Yzerman and the Yzerplan influence this free agent? Will the free agent was money or a winning team? Will that free agent even make it to the open market?

We’ve got Bergeron, Malkin, Hampus Lindholm, Tomas Hertl, and so many more to discuss!

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 190, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The boys are taking a break, but that didn’t stop them from making new content! Today we’re going to take an in-depth look at Mitchell Stephens his journey from the Saginaw Spirit to the Detroit Red Wings

Stephens has been lucky enough to put his name on the Stanley Cup, but after a series of unfortunate events, we measure the likelihood of a long career with the Red Wings and how his own personal situation, as well as the Red Wings prospect pool, would effect that.

We’ve got a lot to discuss since we’ve been gone. The Red Wings 5 game winning streak, continued Rookie dominance by Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider, Tyler Bertuzzi missing more hockey, Nedeljkovic continued dominance and so much more!

We also discuss our upcoming road trip with the St. Louis Blues and the Colorado Avalanche.

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 193, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The Red Wings are still holding onto a playoff Wild Card Spot in the Eastern Conference after their win against the New York Islanders.

We’ll take an in-depth look at the Red Wings win over the Islanders. Another great game by Nedeljkovic while Rasmussen, Lindstrom and Zadina also stood out. And we’ll look ahead to the game against the Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils.

It also won’t hurt to get an update on the Rookie Performances thus far and see how we feel about Lucas Raymond, Moritz Seider, and Alex Nedeljkovic’s respective chances.

The Red Wings also sent two forwards into COVID Protocol. Both Michael Rasmussen and Robby Fabbri will go under the NHL’s COVID Protocol.

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 196, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Red Wings Rant! The Red Wings’ young prospects are making an early impact at the World Juniors. Simon Edvinsson, Theodor Niederbach, and Donovan Sebrango all scored on day one of the IIHF World Junior Championships.

The Red Wings had to add Nick Leddy and Lucas Raymond to the NHL’s COVID 19 Protocol List.

The NHL also had to cancel more games as it tries to figure out the latest COVID struggle in North America. We go over the report from Elliott Friedman and how the NHL is trying to ease the struggles of NHL franchises by bringing back the Taxi Squads and more.

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 197, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The IIHF World Juniors are canceled leaving Red Wings fans with no hockey till Friday. The tournament ends with 2022 NHL Draft Prospect, Brad Lambert, and 2023 NHL Draft Prospect, Connor Bedard walking away with star-making performances.

Simon Edvinsson and Theodor Niederbach also had a good show and should only add to the excitement of the Swedish Red Wings Prospect’s eventual arrival.

Red Wings games continue to get postponed, as Wednesday Night’s game against the Islanders was postponed. We ask the question, is there a silver lining for the Red Wings and their fans to all of these postponed games?

We also take our fan question of the week: Would we trade any of the Red Wings top prospects for a Center?

Finally, with the Red Wings games in New York being canceled, we’ll take a look at their next game with the Washington Capitals.

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 198, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

Moritz Seider, the human wrecking ball, was not enough for the Red Wings to beat the Washington Capitals or the Boston Bruins.

The Red Wings mustered 2 measly goals against the Boston Bruins and the Washington Capitals, reminding us all how far this team still needs to go.

Tyler Bertuzzi and Pius Suter provided some offense, while Vladislav Namestnikov and Moritz Seider provided some much-needed physicality. However, 1 goal will very rarely be enough for a

team to win.

Can Fabbri give a clinic to our larger players on throwing some weight around?

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 199, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The Red Wings were able to win their first game of 2022. With the help of Tyler Bertuzzi, Pius Suter, and Robby Fabbri, the Red Wings were able to beat the San Jose Sharks, 6-2.

Bertuzzi, Suter, and Fabbri are all former members of the Guelph Storm.

The Red Wings also scratched Filip Zadina for this game. Givani Smith was hit with game misconduct. Lucas Raymond added to his rookie scoring lead. Alex Nedeljkovic turned in another quality start.

Nicklas Lidstrom Returns and is the Detroit Red WIngs NEW VP of Hockey Operations. Steve Yzerman says Nick Lidstrom will be involved in every aspect of the game.

The Red Wings U23 Prospects were graded by the Athletic's Corey Pronman today and we’ve got some questions about Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Filip Zadina, Sebastian Cossa, Joe Veleno, and more!

We also have new player cards from the Athletic for us to digest. Dylan Larkin trending well. Alex Nedeljkovic is underpaid. But a lot of Red Wings are overpaid!

We also discuss the Florida Panther's biggest fan, Kodak Black! DId Kodak Black have too much fun at the Panthers game?

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 202, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

Jeff Blashill and the Detroit Red Wings have new forward lines and used them to shut out the Buffalo Sabres,4-0.

Vladislav Namestnikov was promoted to the first line after a pretty good start to the season. The 1st line was made up of Captain, Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond, Vladdy. The line put in 1 goal early in the 3rd.

Tyler Bertuzzi, Fabbri, and Pius Suter made up the second line for the Red Wings. Suter, Bertuzzi, and Fabbri used to play together on the Guelph Storm.

We also got an absolutely beautiful goal and move by Grand Rapids Griffins forward, Jonatan Berggren. Any chance we see Berggren before the end of the season?

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 203, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The Red Wings win again with their new forward lineups. The Red Wings' 2nd line of Tyler Bertuzzi, Robby Fabbri, and Pius Suter is among the most efficient lines in hockey.

Detroit Red Wings lone All-Star, Dylan Larkin, stole the show with his game-tying goal in the 3rd period and Overtime Winner.

The Red Wings claimed Gemel Smith from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Gemel Smith is Givani Smith’s brother. With the Dallas Stars coming up on Friday, should Jamie Benn prepare the ice now?

Jim Matheson and Leon Draisaitl had a verbal tussle. The spat highlighted Draissaitl’s current frustrations with the Edmonton Oilers and has us asking how much we would give up to have the elite center on the Red Wings.

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 204, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The Red Wings are hopefully headed towards the tail end of their rebuild and we have a lot fo bright young stars that could become pillars of the franchise: Dylan Larkin, Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Tyler Bertuzzi. Jakub Vrana, Alex Nedeljkovic.

The former Detroit Lion, Matthew Stafford, is enjoying the most success of his entire career, right now. Stafford and the LA Rams are headed to the NFC Championship game after beating Tom Brady and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Who, on the Red Wings roster has the most potential to become the Matthew Stafford of the Red Wings.

Stafford Credentials:

Someone whose current value is underappreciated

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 205, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The Detroit Red Wings are a .500 team halfway through the season. We’ve read through local papers, the Athletic, and ESPN for what they think of the Red Wings season and we’ve got thoughts.

Dylan Larkin, Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Tyler Bertuzzi, Filip Zadina, Danny Dekeyser, and Alex Nedeljkovic were on the top of everyone’s minds, but were some grades too soft? Too hard? Did they require a second look?

We also have a couple of later round 2022 draft prospects that came across our desk. Let's talk about the Kingston Frontenacs’ Lucas Edmonds and Max Namestnikov, brother to Vladislav Namestnikov.

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 206, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

The Detroit Red Wings defensive struggles overshadow any positives to be found from the Back-to-back games against Pittsburgh and Toronto. After giving up 5 goals in the 3rd period to the Toronto Maple Leafs we thought it was best to remind everyone that the future is bright and the present ain’t so bad either.

Besides Moritz Seider, the Red Wings haven’t gotten great defense, or even average performances, from anyone else. Marc Staal, Nick Leddy, Danny Dekeyser, Jordan Oesterle, and Filip Hronek have shown glaring weaknesses at one point or another.

That being said, the Red Wings could be a few moves away from having a strong defense if you take a look at the Unrestricted and Restricted Free Agent Markets. While many Wings fans have highlighted Hampus Lindholm as an option, a couple of cheaper options might be found in the restricted free agent market.

And let’s not forget that Simon Edvinsson and Albert Johansson, two strong defensive prospects for the Wings, will be fighting for a job next season as well.

The Detroit Red Wings and Dylan Larkin turned the ship around again after a big OT win against the Anaheim Ducks.

Jordan Oesterle redeemed himself with the OT Winner, but Dylan Larkin showed once again why he’s the leader and MVP of this franchise.

We also ask who truly is the MVP of the 2021-22 Campaign so far. Is it Tyler Bertuzzi, Moritz Seider, Alex Nedeljkovic, or Dylan Larkin?

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 208, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

What number and who should the Detroit Red Wings Retire Next?

The Detroit Red Wings have an impressive list of retired numbers currently in the rafters: Red Kelly No. 4, Sid Abel (No. 12), Alex Delvecchio (No. 10), Gordie Howe (No. 9), Nicklas Lidstrom (No. 5), Ted Lindsay (No. 7), Terry Sawchuk (No. 1) and Steve Yzerman (No. 19).

Even with this impressive list, their are so many more numbers yet to be honored. Sergei Federov’s number 91, Chris Osgood’s number 30, Vladdy Konstantinov’s number 16. And in the next generation: Pavel Datsyuk’s number 13 and Henrik Zetterberg’s number 40.

With so many names making major moves in this franchise, why are so few retired? What should be the formula for a retired number in the NHL? Should we care about retired numbers as much as we do?

We also have a couple of Red Wings results to discuss and look at the week ahead.

We’ve already discussed: Sergei Federov’s number 91, Vladdy Konstantinov’s number 16. And in the next generation: Pavel Datsyuk’s number 13 and Henrik Zetterberg’s number 40.

Today we’ll touch on Chris Osgood, Brendan Shanahan and Chris Chelios.

With so many names making major moves in this franchise, why are so few retired? What should be the formula for a retired number in the NHL? Should we care about retired numbers as much as we do?

We also have a couple of Red Wings results to discuss and look at the week ahead.

We’ll also be doing a Watch-a-long for the Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers Game on February 9th. We’ll discuss Filip Zadina on the first line and Dylan Larkin’s ascension to the Elite’s of the NHL.

We’ll try to touch on 2022 Draft Prospect, Jonathan Lekkerimäki. Lekkerimaki is currently showing off in the SHL, he would fit right into the Red Wings potential landing spot for their 2022 Draft Pick.

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 210, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

Moritz Seider and his amazing technicolor wrist shot help the Red Wings take two straight from the Philadelphia Flyers.

Seider walks away from this two-game set against the Flyers with 1 goal and 2 assists, 58% xGF%, and some amazing, jaw-dropping shifts.

Dylan Larkin is also enjoying one of the most fruitful stretches of his career. Currently, on a 5 game point streak, Dylan Larkin has multi-point games in 4 of 5 games.

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 211, Season 3 of Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

Moritz Seider leads the midseason Calder Trophy and Rookie of the Year vote. We take a look at what went into this and how excited we should be.

Filip Zadina’s journey on the 1st line continues on a positive note as Filip Zadina leads the team in xGF% against the Minnesota Wild. If the 1st line is producing and Zadina passes the analytics test, we’re all thumbs up!

Dylan Larkin is also enjoying one of the most fruitful stretches of his career. Currently, on a 5 game point streak, Dylan Larkin has multi-point games in 4 of 5 games.
