I wonder if the weather has possibly had some effect on the ice conditions. Until the start of this week, it has been unseasonably warm in the Detroit area. Or, perhaps the team is just terrible.

Edmonton had issues with their ice at Rogers Place for almost the whole year before they finally were able to get it right.

It is probably just new building kinks. Everything new in almost any field seems to need tinkering and time to get right.
