The idea to review offside has to be one of the dumbest, self-defeating rule changes this league has ever come up with. The person who came up with it should be fired and barred from any involvement with hockey and ideally sent to a mental asylum.

A game that many feel lacks excitement found a way to *reduce* scoring and create more lengthy pauses. Good job, you ****ing idiots.

Agreed. Coach's challenge in general just feels like one of the worst additions to the NHL. It does nothing but reduce scoring by nitpicking apart plays.

Explain how it would have been different if there was no challenge and he just used his timeout instead.

Getting the call right is more important to me than increasing scoring. Excitement for me is from scoring chances, not goals.
