+Fleury was actually very good in this game. He just didn't expect his own guys to score on him, over, and over, and over again.

------------------------------------------------- Scuderi

can we put Scuderi and Orpik on a rocket and launch it to a planet that doesn't have hockey? Even the mightly Oli Maata is no match for the drag that Scuds has on his defensive partner...

Craig Adams scored. The NHL should force the Red Wings franchise to fold just for that.

I'm still laughing about that goal. Two Wing defenders were there in front and they both ignored Adams, giving him a clean shot on goal.

Not taking anything away from him, but I thought it was funny how they were more worried about Sutter behind the net, than Adams with his stick on the ice in front of the cage.

9 times out of 10 Adams either misses the net, or the puck bounces off his stick harmlessly away from the goal. The Wings defensemen made the right play.

 I'd enjoy this more if it weren't so true. Heck most of the time you can count on Adams to be so defensively responsible and hard-working that he doesn't even see the offensive play develop in the first place. That specialist.

I asked on the main board with no actual reply ...

Can anyone explain why DB didn't call a timeout at the start of the 5 min major?
Malkin took the buttend and could have had a moment to recover while setting up a play for the GWG.. It seemed so automatic to make a timeout call and wasn't.
Also the 4-3 PP in OT , were the Penguins just walking through it to get to the shootout knowing FLeury is pretty much money in that situation?

Thanks.

Bylsma has never known how to use timeouts properly. The fact one wasn't called at any point of that PP before the end of regulation was nothing short of idiotic, even if you waited until the first or second faceoff just to keep the stars out there a little more instead of spending so much time with the 2nd PP unit wasting time.

That's always been Bylsma's weakness, even back when he was pretty universally adored.

I tried to come up with a single reason why a timeout wouldn't be called and just couldn't.. Even reaching none made sense. Odd really odd. I know Dan usually waits for 3 ticks on the clock to call timeout to get a little face time but that seemed like a critical error.

Short answer: Bylsma's an idiot when it comes to using his timeouts. He'll randomly call a time out when his team ices the puck in the 2nd period, but won't call timeouts when most coaches normally would (ie. momentum changing goals, etc.).

Even shorter answer: Bylsma's an idiot, period.
