That does look like Doug Harvey in the background. I'm pretty sure the Wings player is Bob Goldham and the photo from the 1955-56 season, Goldham's last of six seasons in Detroit before retiring. It was also the first season that NHL referees wore a striped jersey. Not sure about the Habs' other player, maybe Dickie Moore? Goldham was one of the NHL's better defensive defenseman for a decade and well known at least in Canada as an analyst on HNIC for many years.
