Simmonds Likely less than many think, especially since it seems to be a buyers market (for wingers more than any other position too). Maybe a 2nd or a 2nd + C level prospect
The Jets, Preds, Leafs, Flames, and Blues have all been linked to looking at Simmonds. Then add in Boston wants a 2nd line RW. We are also 6 weeks from the deadline so it's still early too yet talk has already started.

I do think there will be teams debating between Ferland and Simmonds and their expected returns and comparisons.

The Flyers are going to absolutely rob a team in a Simmonds trade and it makes me sad.

Nashville is the one team that could probably actually use him in the role he's actually capable of playing (not the role he played 4 years ago that people just assume he can play) of PP specialist netfront presence, but a team like Toronto or Tampa that has their powerplay sorted out should stay far away.

Thats an accurate take. He would pass first on a break away. We need a scorer and ideally to get younger. His cap is so high that you could just use it all on Panarin if traded for futures. I would trade him back to cbus but not for Panarin. I think we will sign him and Q, hopefully stone too!
In my fantasy, Jake gets traded for Pesce+, then we go sign Panarin and Stone along with coach Q.

So we add a coach, 1 forward, 1 D....then go after a steady goalie to help Hart.

I think we'll fleece someone, but it's very possible Simmonds will regain form. He's just one of several players who have been poor that should be better. I think it's Hakstol's stink that is still on him.

Maybe, but I think it's more likely that he's a 30 year old power-forward whose injuries have piled up over the years.

I don't think he's Lucic but it's not completely out of the question.

what value do you think Pool has? Likely a mid-late 1st. Same as Simmonds. But 100% the Oilers should not be trading either for rentals. They are not contenders and they need cheap players to help offset the guys you mentioned.

Teams are not a match at all for Simmonds.
Shit if the Oilers could get a mid-late first for Puljujarvi I'd be all over that yesterday.

Not much interest in adding Simmonds to an Oilers team doomed to miss the playoffs. Chia will pony up a 1st+Caleb Jones though I'm sure.

Thats mine as well! Plus tank and add Hughes. Then you have a new lethal top line, top pair dman, HOF coach, Frost, Myers, Morin all added in one summer. That would be unreal. If those players and coaches workout that way you have to go for that as we would be cup contenders. Imagine adding an entire first line like that.

Pesce would be the target out of those. Defence 1st guy to play with Provy.

Pesce's not available for Voracek. Pesce was basically grudgingly available for Nylander because it was exactly we needed: a young but established top-line F.

The Canes certainly value him highest of their RHD. He's our 2D, not replaceable from within, makes Slavin better, and is signed for term at a great AAV.
