Ducks are going to be very good in a few years. Not to start a war, but I think they are building better than their cross-town rivals, even if they have less high picks and less overall picks. They have all the main facets of their rebuild. They have good young forwards with players like Zegras, Terry, Comtois, McTavish, Lundestrom, Perreault, Pastujov, Gaucher, Tracey. They have good young defensemen like Drysdale, Mintyukov, Zellweger, Luneau, Warren, and Thrun. And maybe most importantly is they have the goalie, Dostal. NJ and Ottawa are two teams that have done a good job with their rebuild, yet have lacked that last part. They probably have acquired less value in their assets than their rivals, but I think they’ve done and will likely continue to do a much better job in developing these players. Ducks will be good in about two years. 2022-23 is too early, but I think playoffs will happen in 2023-24, and a lot of years after that.
