How is a team with two, not one, two number one defenseman, such steaming waste?
Hamilton slotted as a 3/2 means one of the greatest defensive pairings in the history of hockey plays on the Flames. True story.
For the Hawks;
DK 1
Hammer 2
Soup and Seabs 4
Forsling 6
TVR 6
Rozi seat in press box
Kempny 6
And I honestly thought the Hawks had a top three defense this year. But nothing beats a team with two number one defenseman.
Even PK and Josi on the Preads wouldn't classify as two number one. Josi would be an extremely high number two borderline number one and imo, I consider him electric.
Suter - 1
Spurgeon - 2/3
Scandella - 3
Brodin - 3
Dumba - 5(#1 PP)
Folin - 6
Reilly -6
Prosser- 7
Well, last year Jonas Hiller, and a terrible trio of Russell, Wideman and Smid/Engelland. This year, its been 3 games it is too early to call them steaming waste.
So which one of Kieth karlsson and doughty is out of the top 3
If that's the case, then you base them off last year, and if that's the case, there's no way any team with two number one defenders leads a team to last place in goals against.Well, last year Jonas Hiller, and a terrible trio of Russell, Wideman and Smid/Engelland. Next time OP should clarify which definitions they would like people to use. Top 30 #1? Top 20? Top 10?
I'll stick with the 30 per rank system just because it's cleaner and simpler. People can denote "Elite #1" if they like.
It must be the case that some people aren't using 30 per rank because we've had people on here claiming their team to have one of the best d-cores in the league, but only ranking it 1, 2, 4, 4, which is below average by the 30 per rank system.
For the Jackets it's:
Jones - #2 (very close to 30th leaguewide, I'd guess)
Werenski - #2
Murray - #2
Johnson - #4
Savard - #4
Goloubef - #5
Nutivaara - # 7
Prout - # 7
I have Scandella as a really good 4. Spurgeon as a 3/4 (Barrie equivalent rating).
Reilly as AHL 1/2 but plenty of room to grow.
Brodin (who I really like) as a 3/4 until he finds the Ozone, 2/3 if he starts producing points (20p+ even strength).
Really hope Dumba isn't such a roller-coaster ride this year. If he cuts down on the bonehead plays he'll be an easy 4 (#1PP option) by the end of the season.
Ristolainen - #2
Bogosian - #3/4
Kulikov - #3/4
McCabe - #4
Gorges - #5
Franson - #7

If the Flames have two number one defenders and a solid number 2/3 tweener, how in God's name isn't that team top five in goals against? If not first?
