IMO, depth outside the top 10 is nice but not really all that useful. Most of the players outside a team's top 10 will never see NHL ice, let alone make an impact. That's why I usually only consider the top 10-12 players in an organization, when comparing teams. Go beyond that and you're really just guessing/hoping.I'm of the crowd thinks that Vancouver is barely in the top 5. There are cases for quite a few teams to be up there.
Philly though, absolutely deserves to be up there.
Was my first thought too. But the question is one of depth and I don't think Vancouver has much depth. Talent at the top end is very good and in the argument for best overall. But our depth is still junk. Just look at our D prospect. Juolevi and ....
Heiskanen is quite the addition though, really excited for when those two are on the Stars. With the addition of Heiskanen and Robertson we definitely moved up, but probably not a whole lot. Our prospect depth is not anything special. Maybe ranks in the 15-20 range
Yeah that's an accurate list, and it's pretty sad for a team trying to rebuild. There's some hope in there, but not enough.Detroit's top 10 probably includes
Rasmussen
Cholowski
Hronek
Saarijarvi
Svechnikov
Lindstrom
Larsson
Petruzzelli
Givani Smith.
Doesn't deserve to be in the top 20, I don't think
what happened to svechnikov? I remembered he was my pick for the Canucks in 2015. Was really disappointed that day when Detroit took him 5 picks before we could snag him. Needless to say I'm thankful I wasn't picking for the Canucks that day.Detroit's top 10 probably includes

Blues have a great prospect poolLiked how you snuck the Blues in there like we wouldnt notice
It's the quantity of players the Canucks have in the top 50ish NHL affiliated prospects that make them near the best if not top.As a Canucks fan I don’t think our depth is that great, aside from Pettersson who’s the best prospect in the world (drafted) I don’t see much that’s different from other teams?
Demko looks fantastic I agree but Im pretty sure every team in the NHL has prospect like Kole Lind and Adam Gaudette.
The defensive depth is absolutely horrible too.
Thomas and Kyrou overrated their game wont translate to nhl success. Its too bad too because the Blues are in such a bad spot atm they NEED those future guys but just wont cut itBlues have a great prospect pool
Walman I’m a big fan of but haven’t kept track of him recently
They also have Thomas, Kyrou, Kostin, Thompson, Foley, Husso, Blais, Toropchenko all guys with good potential. It’s deep and also has high end talent in every position
Where would you have Dahlen? He seems like the best skater in our pool.As I said, our talent drops off drastically after Gaudette. Hobey Baker winners/finalists get hyped all the time, so we can save the Hobey Baker award posts. Ben Hutton was once a finalist too. I like Gaudette but he’s not close to Pettersson.
Every other team has a Lind/Gadjovich/DiPietro/Lockwood but don’t tell our fanbase that - touchy subject for those who believe all of those players will be something.
Juolevi is our best defensive prospect so that says enough right there about the future of our backend.

He had a strong rookie year in the AHL, this year he’s had injuries but started getting better(healthy) the last ~20 games. Can’t write him off just yet.what happened to svechnikov? I complied a list of prospects, from every team, that is comparable to Kole Lind. This is to show other teams have similar prospects comparable to Kole Lind - most of these prospects, were picked very, very late (unlike Lind) so that is to be taken into consideration before we nitpick a player with 1.27 pts/game to Lind's 1.62 pts/game.
Kole Lind - Drafted 33rd overall, 2017 - 1.62 pts/game (1998 born)
In comparison:
ANA - F Maxime Comtois - Drafted 50th overall, 2017 - 1.55 pts/game (1999 born)
ARI - F Tyler Steenbergen - Drafted 128th overall, 2017 - 1.85 pts/game (1998 born)
BOS -F Jack Studnicka - Drafted 53rd overall, 2017 - 1.06 pts/game (1999 born)
BUF - F Cliff Pu - Drafted 69th overall, 2016 - 1.27 pts/game (1998 born)
CGY - F Dillon Dube - Drafted 56th overall, 2016 -1.50 pts/game (1998 born)
CAR - F Stelio Mattheos - Drafted 73rd overall, 2017 - 1.32 pts/game (1999 born)
CHI - No comparable, have hardly selected from WHL/OHL/QMJHL
COL - D Connor Timmins - Drafted 32nd overall, 2017 - 1.12 pts/game (1998 born)
CBJ - F Vitaly Abramov - Drafted 65th overall, 2016 - 1.87 pts/game (1998 born)
DAL - F Jason Robertson - Drafted 39th overall, 2017 - 1.30 pts/game (1999 born)
DET - No comparable
EDM - F Kirill Maksimov - Drafted 146th overall, 2017 - 1.23 pts/game (1999 born)
FLA - F Aleksi Heponiemi - Drafted 40th overall, 2017 - 2.16 pts/game (1999 born)
LAK - F Jaret Anderson-Dolan - Drafted 41st overall, 2017 - 1.33 pts/game (1999 born)
VGK - D Nicolas Hague - Drafted 34th overall, 2017 - 1.15 pts/game (1998 born)
MIN - F Dmitry Sokolov - Drafted 196th overall, 2016 - 1.47 pts/game (1998 born)
MTL - No comparable
NSH - No comparable, have hardly selected from WHL/OHL/QMJHL
NJD - No comparable
NYI - D David Quenneville - Drafted 200th, 2016 - 1.17 pts/game (1998 born)
NYR - F Ty Ronning - Drafted 201st overall, 2016 - 1.20 pts/game (1997 born)
NYR - F Brett Howden - Drafted 27th overall, 2016 - 1.50 pts/game (1998 born)
OTT - F Drake Batherson - Drafted 121st overall, 2017 - 1.53 pts/game (1998 born)
PHI - F Morgan Frost - Drafted 27th overall, 2017 - 1.67 pts/game (1999 born)
PIT - No comparable, have hardly selected from WHL/OHL/QMJHL
SJ - No comparable
STL - F Jordan Kyrou - Drafted 35th overall, 2016 - 1.96 pts/game (1998 born)
TB - F Boris Katchouk - Drafted 44th overall, 2016 - 1.48 pts/game (1998 born)
TB - F Taylor Raddysh - Drafted 58th overall, 2016 - 1.45 pts/game (1998 born)
TB - F Otto Somppi - Drafted 206th overall, 2016 - 1.42 pts/game (1998 born)
TOR - No comparable, prospects from 2016 have mostly turned pro
WSH - No comparable
WPG - F Skyler McKenzie - Drafted 198th overall, 2017 - 1.20 pts/game (1998 born)
All these players are progressing very well.
So, I guess we can say other teams truly do have prospects comparable to ours opposed to what people seem to think.
Soon to be:Probably have Gaudette/Dahlen together. Really not sure about Dahlen, would've liked to see what he could've done in the SHL this season. He has looked good at least, but again, don't think Dahlen is close to Pettersson.
Pettersson
Demko
Gaudette/Dahlen
Then a huge drop off in talent IMO.
Well perhaps the fanbase overrates some of those as well. That's fair but then you're not worried about his size unlike some on that list. What matters from Nuck fans standpoint is that Lind currently ranks as our 5-6 best prospect. THAT is the difference from past years. E.g., his numbers are right up there with Hodgson who was a darling prospect with early 1st round pedigree, WJHC heroics... and skating issues.
Having Mittelstadt and Asplund in the pipeline, because Eichel and ROR just are not enough. Riiiiight.Sabres
1. Casey Mittelstadt
2. Brendan Guhle
3. Alex Nylander
4. Rasmus Asplund
5. Linus Ullmark
6. Will Borgen
7. Cliff Pu
8. Marcus Davidsson
9. CJ Smith
10. Victor Olofsson
Justin Bailey, Nick Baptiste, Hudson Fasching, Danny O'Regan
Best???
Right now I really don't think anyone can say definitively, I mean philly doesnt have a top 20 prospect, so I have no idea why people are labelling them the best.
Worst??
Im going to say San Jose or Pittsburgh
hahahahahahahah.......Thomas and Kyrou overrated their game wont translate to nhl success. Its too bad too because the Blues are in such a bad spot atm they NEED those future guys but just wont cut it
