Well EA released the top 50 players for NHL 15.

From Boston:
Rask - 92
Bergeron - 91
Chara - 91
Krejci - 89

I thought Rask would be better than the 4th best goalie TBH. They ranked Henrik, Quick, and Price ahead in that order.

Ill try to project the rest.

Lucic (88) - Krejci (89) - Eriksson (84)
Marchand (85) - Bergeron (91) - Smith (82)
Kelly (78) - Soderberg (82) - Fraser* (75)
Paille (79) - Campbell (77) - Caron*(75)

Chara (91) - Hamilton (83)
Seidenberg (86) - Boychuk (84)
Krug (83) - McQuaid (80)
Miller (79)

Rask (92)
Svedberg (74)

*= just a guess, no idea who they plan on having at those spots

He's basically tied with Price, they're both 92. Price just has some stats and maybe potential over him by a slim margin. Quick and Lundqvist are one up on them, which I'd say they deserve.

Not sure what the weighting is like for NHL 15, so basing it on NHL 14 and derived from 3-year running statistical totals.

D. Sedin (87) - H. Sedin (88) - R. Vrbata (86)
A. Burrows (83) - N. Bonino (83) - Z. Kassian (80)

Here's what I think EA will do for the Bruins:

Green: too high
Red: too low
Black: about right

Lucic (87) - Krejci (88) - Eriksson (84)
Marchand (86) - Bergeron (90) - Smith (81)
Kelly (79) - Soderberg (81) - Caron (76)
Paille (78) - Campbell (77) - Florek (73)
Spooner (75)

Chara (92) - Hamilton (83)
Seidenberg (86) - Boychuk (85)
Krug (80) - Miller (76)
Bartkowski (76), McQuaid (79)

Rask (92)
Svedberg (77)

Just to change these a bit with the new ratings (I was right on or 1 off with Bergeron, Krejci, Chara and Rask):

Green: too high
Red: too low
Black: about right

Lucic (88) - Krejci (89) - Eriksson (85)
Marchand (86) - Bergeron (91) - Smith (82)
Kelly (79) - Soderberg (82) - Caron (76)
Paille (79) - Campbell (77) - Florek (73)
Spooner (76)

Chara (92) - Hamilton (83)
Seidenberg (86) - Boychuk (85)
Krug (80) - Miller (76)
Bartkowski (76), McQuaid (79)

Rask (92)
Svedberg (77)

Miller was released yesterday at 89 overall, and I also think that Bieksa and Edler are too high, but other then that it seems pretty fair.

Hernik Zetterberg (92) Pavel Datsyuk (93) Justin Abdelkader (81)
Johan Franzen (85/86) Stephan Weiss (80/81) Darren Helm (83)
Tomas Tatar (83 4/4.5 gold star) Riley Sheahan (82 3.5 or 4 green star) Gustav Nyquist (84/85 4 gold star)
Tomas Jurco (79/80 4 star gold) Luke Glendening (78 3.5/4 star) Drew Miller (77)
Dan Cleary (76)

Niklas Kronwall (88) Jonathan Ericsson (83/84)
Kyle Quincey (82) Brendan Smith (82/83 3.5/4 gold star)
Danny DeKeyser (81/82 4 green star) Jakub Kindl (81/82)
Brian Lashoff (75) Xavier Quellet (75 3.5/4 gold star)

Jimmy Howard (85/86)
Jonas Gustavsson (80)

Not too sure about if Anthony Mantha will make team due to Ken Holland's idea of prospecting, but memorial cup run sure boosted it up. If he does make it be either first line playing with datsyuk or second playing with Franzen, but if he is rate him a (76 4.5 green star).

They were already a deep team in NHL 14 on Offnese, so dont see what your point is.

The NHL 14 roster for the Avs was:

ROR(84) - Duchene(87) - Paranteau(84)
Landy(85) - Stastny(85) - Tanguay(84)
McGinn(80) - Mackinnon(85) - Talbot(81)
McCleod(75) - Mitchell(79) - Cliche(74)

That roster was already pretty damn deep. Add in career years from ROR, Duchene, Mack, McGinn, and Landy means all 4 of them will likely get at least 1-2 overall boosts.

They lose Stastny and Paranteau, but replace them with Iginla(86 in NHL 14), and Briere(81 in NHL 14).

They are a deep team. They have a lot of depth on Offense, and they improved Defensively with the addition of Stuart who always gets a ~83 overall rating in the NHL games. Plus boosts to Holden and Barrie after breakout seasons.

The Avs are a deep team on offense, and got deeper on Defense.

Based on this and the ratings we already know:

ROR(86)-Duchene(90)-Iginla(86)
Landeskog(87)-MacKinnon(85)-Tanguay(84)
McGinn(81)-Mitchell(79)-Briere(79)
McLeod(74)-Winchester(74)-Talbot(79)

Stuart(81)-EJ(85)
Hejda(80)-Barrie(83)
Holden(78)-Redmond(75)

Varly(89)
Berra(72)

MacKinnon is either a 5 yellow or 4.5 green.

Bergenheim (80) - Bolland (82) - Pirri (80)
Upshall (80) - MacKenzie (79) - Hayes (79)

Campbell (87) - Kulikov (82)
Mitchell (83) - Ekblad (76)
Olsen (78) - Gudbranson (80)

Luongo (89)

As long as Lucic can still fight, and Chara can still hit, I'm okay with BOS's ratings :)

Raffl(81 3.5 Gold) - Giroux (91, 4.5 Gold) - Voracek (86, 4 Gold)
Hartnell (84) - Schenn(84, 4 Gold) - Simmonds (86 4 Gold)
Read (83)- Couturier (83, 4 Gold) - Downie (82, 3.5 Gold
Rosehill (75)- Hall (78) - Rinaldo (76, 3 Gold)

McGinn (78, 3.5 Gold)

Timonen (85)-Schenn(84) (4 Red)
Coburn-(84) Streit (82)
Meszaros (83) Grossman (82)

Gill (76) Gustaffson (78, 3 Gold)

Mason (84, 4 Star Gold)
Emery (78)

I cant remember the current lines, but I think theyre close enough. "Stars" represent their potential, 3 being up to an 82-83, 3.5 being up to an 85, 4 being up to an 89, 4.5 being up to a 92-93

Gill is a 70 at best. Slow, no control of his shot, no IQ, no anything. He's awful. Btw I do realize this is from last year but whatever ;)

I can't believe how high Ryan Kesler and David Krejci are rated in NHL 15. At best Kesler should be an 88 and Krejci an 87. They have Mikko Koivu rated higher than Tyler Seguin. Ridiculous!

I actually think Holden will get a significantly higher overall then that. Remember that Barrie got an 82 in NHL 14 after putting up 13 points in 32 games during the lockout season.

Holden just put 25 in 54, and 4 in 7 during the playoffs. Holden is also much older and wont have any potential to help develop him into a higher overall. I think he'll be an 82 similar to what Barrie was given last year after his semi breakout season.

As for the rest I generally agree +/- a couple points. I think EJ gets an 87, Igginla gets an 85, Landeskog an 86, and Mackinnon an 86/7. The rest I agree with.

Terrible that Giroux is the same rating as Kessel, EA puts so much weight on defensive play, he should be higher than Kessel. Better offensively and defensively

It's a joke that almost 50 players have 90+ overall ratings. And Nicklas Backstrom almost as fast as Marleau? lol EA. As a Ducks fan, comparing Getzlaf and Perry, with Perry being more physical and a better shotblocker is also crap.

God I hope they never remove the edit player feature. It's a lot of work to edit them all, but it's the only way I can handle playing the game.

Yah, I've probably spent 12+ hours combined fixing things with their rosters. And the fact that you have to manually load your custom one (for ps3) every time I start the game just pisses me off

Watch clarkson be an 85. Sometimes it seems like they look at the contract and go "he must be good" and give them a higher rating than they deserve. Also I don't know if it actually happens... But it seems when a the new nhl game comes out, they'll have a few players to low, only to increase them in roster updates, and then when the next game comes out they'll be too low again
